What does it mean?!

I'm hoping somebody can help to ease my mind about DH sperm analysis result. Apart from the low count, it seemed to show that there was pus in it (sorry, sounds kinda gross), which I gather isn't supposed to be there :rolleyes: DH was on antibiotics at the time of the sample.

We are now being referred to another clinic to test for infections - does anybody have any experience with this? Does anyone know what they test and what 'it' could be? ?(

My mind is coming up with all sorts of horrible scenarios which I know isn't very realistic thinking... Some advice is much appreciated!

Thanks, Sophie

Hi Sophie

Have you seen this thread?

'Life in the Lab' - for all sperm questions!

Would you like me to move your question there or maybe you would like to post in there as well as here?

Just wanted to say I work in a lab where we test for infections, in the case of sperm we'd just ask for a fresh sample from the patient and culture that to see if there is anything there that may cause problems. xxx

they may also take some swabs/urine samples as well to rule out everything.
Me 28 DH 28.
DH=v.low sperm count, Me=endo. laparoscopy 10/1/08.
ES/ICSI starts soon :pray:
