DIUI on the NHS

Hello, just wondering if anyone has had experience of DIUI on the NHS?

I have an appointment with a consultant on the 25th June regarding treatment.

I went to see the same hospital about 2 years ago and was told that there was a 3 - 5 year wait for DIUI due to the lack of donors (of which there were only 2 in my area!).

If I am told the same thing can I 'opt' to have the treatment abroad (as those requiring hip replacements etc have been able to do?) I know that it is very different but just hoping someone can help??

Many thanks

Hiya, Hun
Unfortunately I cannot advise of the donor side of things in the UK but I do know that there are a number of clinics in other parts of the world that have a good supply of donor sperm. In order to have treatment abroad, though, you would have to be self-funding...
