Drugs and choice of clinic - is it a factor?

Hiya.. maybe this has been posted elsewhere so sorry to be repetative. The search engine didn't give us an answer to this question so here it is. Do the drugs policies of all or most clinics (we are searching those in london at the moment) vary or are they more or less the same in terms of...
i) once they prescribe certain drugs the clinics insist on you buying from their own pharmacy,...
ii) clinics insist on you buying only branded or their own drugs ...
iii) allow you to go overseas to buy their presecribed drugs...

It seems the cost of drugs is a factor for most people here.. so further to the above.. What issues relating to costs of drugs have affected people's decison making regarding what clinics they would choose?

We area couple looking for egg donation IVF etc... treatment. My partner is French, 37, lacks any ovaries and (like most here I am guessing) desparate to have a child.

Hi Snowy.
It is my experience that you can get your drugs from outside of most clinics, they certainly cannot make you only use their pharmacy. I was with the Lister in Chelsea and I could have ordered my drugs from elsewhere slightly cheaper. There are many threads on here about who to ring for quotes once you have a prescription someone will be along shortly to give you the links. Most pharmacy's can deliver within 24 hours so you can order them in small batches at a time during your treatment (incase your dosage changes, you don't want to be stuck with ones you can't use)

As far as different brands are concerned your specialist will have reasons for choosing a certain brand for you but a good specialist will be open to listening to your suggestions or concerns regarding other brands.
