2nd SA Results

Hi there

After a 2-and-a-half month gap, my DH has taken his second SA test.

Results not fully available as yet, waiting on copy of SA report. However, what we have been told is looking very promising:

Test 1 - Test 2
Volume: 6.3ml now 2.9ml
PH: 7.9 now 8.1
Total Count: 27 million now 130 million
Density: 4 million per ml now 45 million per ml
Total Motile: 55% now 70%

We don't yet have details of the grade of motile sperm, and we aren't sure about the morphology, but things are definitely looking much better. We have been put on the ICSI waiting list, after the 1st result, because I am 37, but I am now wondering if this will be changed?

All my bloods have come back as normal, suspecting a lap and dye maybe on the cards for me next - had one scheduled for March, which was cancelled following DH's 1st result.

DH did start taking a list of supplements after the 1st test result, wore baggier boxers, we kept the central heating down in the house a bit, but we really don't know if this helped, or if her perhaps had an infection when the 1st test took place (I think the high volume in test 1 can be indicative of an infection....).

Having a wee drink to celebrate the first piece of good news we have had for months.....

Any ideas what happens now? Thank you!

RE: 2nd SA Results

Hi,

Yes a very different result for whatever reason.

Try to get the figures for your 'Normal' results and then see what the lap and dye indicates.

But a much more reassuring picture.

Congratulations to you both.

Thanks Saffy and Paul

Lap and Dye now scheduled for 7th May, DHs urology appointment cancelled, I'm so worried the lap and dye isn't going to be good news.... xx
