Sperm DNA fragmentation testing

Anyone know how long it takes for these tests to come back?

DH's test is on Monday at Liverpool Women's and will be sent to Manchester. I was just thinking about when to arrange a follow up...

RE: Sperm DNA fragmentation testing

Hi,

It will probably take a couple of weeks, with the admin delays that are inherent in intra-laboratory referral.

Ring in three weeks to check, but once you have an appointment, ring a few days before to check that the results have been received and are really in your file. This gives the unit time to find them and put them there!

Good luck

CB did your consultant suggest this?

i was thinking about one but my embryologist says he would be staggered if lukes sperm had high fragmentation, i know that no one can say for sure but im gona do this cycle in a hope we have success then if not, we will look into it

i have read that ivf fertilisation is better if high dna fragmentation due to natures way of only letting a good sperm fertilse the eggs yet at the same time ive read icsi is a way or treating it!!!!mixed really!!!!!

i have also read a new type of icsi is better at chosen good sperm called IMSI, i think

Just to add to this.

Paul you were right about the delays! We've got a follow up on April 14th and results *will* apparently be back by then.

Kar our consultant doesn't know us as well as yours knows you, but he did say as DH's brother's have children a high frag result from him is unlikely, although not impossible.
