Criteria for Exeter NHS

Our Doctor has just (or is in the process of) referring us to NHS Exeter RD &E. He has told us to try and get fertility treatment on the NHS and then if we are not leigible, to go private.

Does anyone out there know any criteria for getting on the NHS list at Exeter? Our main worry is that I am 40 next month ( fab- not!) and my husband has got 2 kids from a previous marriage ( albeit it did end over 13 years ago due to ex having an affair- whether or that makes a difference?) We have also only been trying for 6 months, but I've been told that my progesterone levels (12) are very low.

We don't want to waste any time waiting to get on the NHS list if we are not eligible and somehow go private!

RE: Criteria for Exeter NHS

Hi there

I'm afraid I can't help you with your criteria question.

Your best bet would be to contact your PCT. We have a comprehensive list here

Thanks for getting back to me. Fortunately we've just heard that the fertility clinic will see us on the NHS in early February. We know that if it comes to IVF (we are unsure yet) then we will have to pay as I am 40 next month and my husband has 2 children from a previous marriage.
Thanks again!
