IUI at Hammermsith

Hello everyone

has anyone had IUI treatment at Queen Charlotte & Chelsea (Hammersmith).

I went there for my first appt last week after being referred for IVF but have been recommended to try IUI first (under my PCT I am eligible for 3 cycles of IUI and one cycle of IVF).

All this time I have been reading up on IVF, totally over looking the other options.

Any tips / experiences gratefully accepted.

Good luck to you all

Hi Ria,

I'm afraid I live up North so I know nothing about Hammersmith. Was it just advice about that clinic you wanted, or generally about IUI?

Anyway good luck with your TX

Hello and welcome!

I haven't been to your clinic but have got a BFP through IUI. As for hints and tips I would probably suggest, being relax and trying to chill about the process. IUI is a lot less invasive than IVF but does have lower success rates. If you have any questions give us a shout as there are a few us IUI girlies on here.

Good Luck!

Personally I'd go for the IUI, as it worked first time for me - it is less invasive than IVF, and definitely worth a try.

Ria

Funny you should say what you have. We had our first appointment at Hammersmith today and they said exactly the same to us. Like yourself I hadn't even thought about IUI.

I have become a regularvisitor to Hammersmith. My third IUI will be this week. I think for our problem IUI is a waste of time. All my hopes are for IVF.
