I've just had ivm

Anyone out there experienced ivm?

Was gutted last week to find i had only 3 mature eggs out of 6. Only 1 fertilsed. Then the embryologist said that they would try and mature then fertilise the other 3. Another 1 made it. Me and DH were stunned having not heard about it before.

I'm 3dpt with 1 day 2 and 1 day 3 embryo

Would love to hear any similar stories.
Andi x

I had a similar experience. I had 6 eggs, and 2 were immature. The embryologist told us that it was possible that the 2 immature ones would mature while in the culture. The next day only 1 egg had fertilised, but the 2 immature ones had matured. The spermies were still active and docking but, unfortunately they didn't fertilise. Maybe I should have sent DH back to produce a fresh batch! That's brilliant that you ended up with 2 embies, good luck, I hope you end up with a BFP.

Fingers crossed for you Andi. I hope this works for you. It's such a new treatment I think there are very few people who have got the experience to pass on to you, but we will be willing you along and wishing you luck all the way.

RE: I've just had ivm

Hi Andi,

How did you go about getting IVM. I think it would be good for me having PCOS ( i dont respond well to drugs).

Are they offerring this on the NHS now, or did you apply to a private clinic?

I have been trying to get pregnant for 5 years now with the NHS. I am still waiting for my first IVF in January.

Have only had 1 IUI in all that time! I am so frustrated with the NHS!
