Wondering what's next

Hi Guys,
Was really gutted this morning when AF arrived after my 5th round of Clomid. Really thought this was our month as I had implantation bleeding and other positive signs. We have an appointment with our NHS consultant in a few weeks time (by then i will be on my 6th and final round of clomid) and i was just wondering what is likely to happen next. I'm pretty sure we will go on to have IUI but i'm worried that she will say 'right, you're on the waiting list, come back in 6-12 months' or is it likely we will have IUI the very next cycle ?? Also, is it possible to go straight on to ICSI (DH has poor sperm morphology) ?
Hope everyone else is staying positive, many thanks xxx

Hello Devondog, I'm so sorry that your AF has arrived again, know it is really heartbreaking seeing the months go by. I'm not sure of your exact figures for morphology, but I was told that there was no point in carrying on with clomid or doing IUI - the only way for me to get a BFP would be through ICSI (unless a natural miracle happened, of course) as my D.H has a low count and I have other issues.
I guess your clinic will advise you on what is best for you as everyone is different and they take all sorts of things into account. I'm not sure that I've helped here but I just wanted you to know that you're not on your own. I have everything crossed for you on this 6th round of clomid. If you do move on to IUI or ICSI then we're here to help you through it  x

babydust for you x

Thanks Ros, its so nice to be able to chat to people in a similar situation. My DH's sperm morphology was 5 % then 8 % normal form, with good count and motility. Don't know if that will influence anything.
Sending babydust back to you x

Hi Devendog, hope you are settling in well and finding FZ a useful and friendly place

My DH also has low normal forms and really the only option for us was ICSI (which i'm delighted to say worked first time).
Although your dh's count and motility are good, his sperm would still have trouble fertilising an egg as they are the wrong shape. Therefore ICSI would carry a much higher chance of success than clomid or iui.

I hope this helps. I wish you and your dh the very best of luck!

Hi Devondog!
Sorry about your AF, i also have taken 50mgs of clomid for the last 6 months, i am on day 18 at the mo, so ill end up taking month 7 im sure!! always think the worst! least then i am not disapointed!! haha......they want me to be on clomid a year! yes a year, oh the joys, well in the end last month i let rip!(not phsyically i hasten to add!!) i said i wasnt happy on it etc etc, my DH is all fine, so in the end on 14th oct i am booked in for them to have a look inside with dye, whats the point i said of taking clomid, IF, nothing is getting anywhere inside!! simple really! so thats the 14th, on the 17th i am then off to a private clinic, not hanging around anymore, jut to get some advice and ask him, what is the next step!.....fed up of only being able to speak to my NHS specialist on a weds afternoon, whats the good in that...so, like you, i had postive thoughts about clomid, kept thinking it would be the answer, so far though it hasnt been, which is sad......
big hugs xx
