Hi there Annette,
It all depends on what clinic your at and the criteria they require i.e age, weight, previous children from either partner, most places will not accept you for NHS treatment if you have a child, (just noticed you have) so the route you may have to go down is privately, maybe i'm wrong, but that was my clinics criteria. IVF is expensive and can range from 2500, upwards.

Wishing you well

IVF via the NHS is Free, but you must fit their criteria.
IVF privatly can range in price it depends on the clinic you use.

Hi Annette
Have you asked your gp about this? It depends on the local pct that you are under and if you meet their criteria, like the others have said. Some pct's that wont offer funding for ivf cycles will offer funding for the drugs on private cycles so it's worth fiding out more.

You would need to check what the rules are in your area as it differs from area to area. Do you know how to check??

Children from either partner usually means you won't meet the criteria. You really need to check out your own PCTs criteria.

ttc since July 06. 8 cycles of clomid. BFP on cycle 5 (Dec 07) ended in m/c at 9.5 weeks. Second BFP on cycle 8 (May 08)

I would find what your local pct rules are on this. In my area, if either partner has previously had a child then you are not entitled to funding but they will sometimes still fund the drugs.

In my experience the rules are if either party has a child that lives with them, a phone call or a trip to your gp should answer your query.
Good Luck!

Hi almostmrswalker

Like all the above it depends a lot on your area, i have 3 boys to my ex-husband ( 15,16 & 17) but my previous partner of 15yrs has no children ( also not married).. Our Local hospital said we wouldnt be accepted for NHS tx but i made a bit of a fuss at my oppointment saying i'd heard on the news everyone is allowed 3 free goes, to be honest i think he just wanted to get me out of the department lmao so he said he would refer our case to St Mary's in Manchester, luckily for us we was accepted, may be worth your while to try and inquire cos you never know sweetie x
