We're going for it....abroad!

Hi folks,

Sorry I haven't posted on here for a while so not many of you will not my news.... well I was getting really itchy feet last week about prolonging treatment in the hope that things will happen naturally for us. I got AF too last Monday and was a bit upset that we'd really given it our all thinking it could happen naturally. Suppose I was just kidding myself and should have listened to the consultant when he said that we didn't have a chance naturally. :tear:

Anyway, we pondered over going for treatment here at our local clinic and trying a clinic abroad, so we decided to go abroad. We're going to a clinic in Norway in Haugesund and booked our initial consultation for 30th May. The consultant was so helpful and friendly and seems to think from the results that we sent him that we would have as good a chance as anybody. They don't have any waiting lists either so we could start right away. smile2

Am so chuffed and really feel as though things are moving for us. Despite our appointment being 8 weeks away, I already feel so much better as we have a goal now. Am so so excited. I know I haven't been yet but if anyone wants any details about the clinic, just PM me.

Addy

Cheers follks,

I know it's a risk in that we won't have the monitoring that you would have over here but there's nothing wrong with us having perhaps one scan here to make sure things are ok.

Am really looking foward to it...and Norway is a stunning country!

Good luck Addy! i'm sure you may have already lookied into this but do you know what your clinic in norways policy is on transfering one or two embryos? Many nordic countries are now transferring one embryo as standard practice and wont consider putting two back. I'm not sure how many norwegian clinics are signed up to this and of course this may be something you expressly want, but if you've any reservations about going with a single embryo it may be worth finding out in advance!

Good luck chicken, exciting times ahead!

Addy, wishing you every success on your exciting journey. When you have your consultation have all your questions written down , I remember when we were in Ukraine, I went dumb. could not think as it was all over whelming.

Make sure when you are over there , get out to see some of the sights, my 1ast trip O/seas for treatment we had to be there a week ( due to my treatment egg donation) so we saw alot of wonderful sights.

Take care and look forward to seeing your progress

xx
