waiting for IUI timing stress.

I can't concentrate on work today, as I don't know whether we will be able to do our IUI this month because of DH's work. I've had a Dr's apt already today (at 7.40am!), to check size of follicle and do blood test to check hormone levels. Yesterday though I did a home ovulation test and got a positive. Now I have to wait for a phone call to see if the insemination has to be this afternoon, or early tomorrow. The lab for the sperm preparation closes at 4pm today, and DH doesn't know if he will be able to leave work before 5pm, so am really hoping it's not today. I have irregular cycles and it drives me mad not having a clue when anything is going to happen :hairout. The clinic is a bit rubbish about scheduling appts too, they gave me an appt for monitoring on day 14 this time, and I had to phone up and point out that I sometimes ovulate on day 13 so I needed to reschedule. I think they only look at the last cycle (my last IUI was on day 17). I will be gutted if we have to miss this one, last month was a short cycle so we missed it because of Christmas and New Year ( bah Humbug !). Also, next stage for us is IVF, so I don't want to miss this last chance to conceive without all the drugs. If I'm lucky, I will know in 2 1/2 hours whether we have to try today or tomorrow. Guess I'll try and do some work now......

wow, that was fast, got blood test result only 3 hours after they took it! DH can escape at lunchtime today, and go straight back to work, I will do the same a bit later, so we wont even see each other! so attempt no.4 is today.

good luck and im glad your dh is able to go and do his bit

blood test never really take long to do(unless they are chromosome test!), it al depends on how busy the lab in and now most are linked by computer which makes it quicker to get results good luck

thanks for the good luck, well it's done, Dr reckons timing is good and DH's count was better than last time (about 15 million after washing). Now it's time to sit back and enjoy(?!?) the 2WW, and send swimmy messages to the sperm!
