Worried (tmi)

I had my 4th iui yesterday and there were some complications, It turns out that my cervix is squint (although nae other nurse has had a problem during basting) so after alot of prodding (and blood) she had to use a clamp/ tweezer type things to straighted it whilst i got basted.

Afterwards i was quite sore kind of like a pulled muscle pain with short and sharp pain on my left side, and was bleeding there was even red clots ?(

This morning i woke up and the pain has eased its just sore when i stretch or bend although im still bleeding quite alot which isnt normal, My mum thinks that its just cause the nurse was rough am i worrying over nothing? I also feel like this cycle is over already and its only day 2 of the 2ww :(

Ouch! You're bound to feel sore after being manhandled like that! It certainly seems a bit odd that on all your other IUIs your cervix wa ok and now its suddenly all squiffy...... I know they do have to use clamps if you have a tilted uterus, but as far as I'm aware, if you have one, you have one, it doesnt just decide to change one fine day! I may be wrong, but it does seem a bit strange.
Sorry you're feeling so tender, hopefully the bleeding will soon subside, but if it doesn't, I'd ring the clinic for advice.

Good luck!

Milner

What a stress..

The fact that you bled during the treatment would suggest that the bleeding post treatment will be coming from the same place as during the treatment (hope that make sense). If she was fiddling about with your cervix, then the bleeding should be coming from there... Not sure, but it seems logical..

Please remember that the cervix should be closed and your emmbies should be snug in your uterus..

If you are worried, then phone the clinic, thats what they are there for..

Good luck Milner.

The cervix is very vascular and bleeds very easily and will also bleed a lot, if ahe used tweezers etc then she may well have damaged (temporarily) the capiliaries hence the bleeding and clots, it should have no impact on the insemination though as the eggies and spermies are far away from the cervix

Good luck

Thats great Milner - I bled a little after my first IUI too, and thats without clamos or anything. Glad its all stopped, and as the others say, the sperm would have already have been way up inside your uterus and once they're in, they can't fall out again. Hoping you get your BFP in 2 weeks time!

With my first i.u.i i bled a tiny bit, (it was actualy the same nurse who done this cycle) then with the 2nd and 3rd they was nothing. i walked out of the clinic this time with tears in my eyes which aint like me at all. It felt like it was a waste of both a cycle and sperm so its a great relief to know that the sperm should be fine

It'll all be OK, you'll see! Just had mine done today and it hurt a bit more this time, but nothing too bad. I feel bloated and sore too and there's a bit of blood. Stay positive Milner - this could be your time!

OOh and Milner, my uterus was a bit tilted today too, which was why it took longer and more poking about to get the tube in. Apparently it can change position a bit from cycle to cycle - its all quite normal and doesn't have any effect on the outcome, so definitely don't worry!
