How soon could i get an accurate hpt result

Im due to test next Friday, but im going on holiday and its my birthday on the Saturday. If i get a bfn i just know that ill have both a crap holiday and birthday, I also know that I wont want to do anything on the friday. If i can test a bit earlier then that will give us a couple of days to sort our heads out. So how soon can i test to get an accurate result?

RE: How soon could i get an accurate hpt result

well, i think the clearblue ones can be form 4 days before AF is due...but i'm not sure of their accuracy.
if you got a -ve on one of these a few days before but still no signs of AF are you sure you still wouldn't have a teeny bit of hope tho? in which case it might defeat the point of testing so early!
well, that's how i think i;d be.....

i really would try not to test early as you may well have to retest anyway.

14 days after insem is the recommended minimum wait before you test, Hun

With the last 2 cycles af has arrived both on the morning before i got a chance to test and the day before testing, If i got a bfn then the hope would be gone and id just expect af to turn up.

I ovulated and had insem last friday (17th) DH has no swimmers so any possible pregnancy would be from the insem

Hi Milner.
Kar is right - you shouldn't test early if you can help it. BUT...... I know how you feel and I think I would be tempted too. Why don't you just leave the decision til next week and see how you feel then - if you're anything like me you'll change your mind by the hour anyway! Good luck, whenever you decide to test, and I hope you get the best birthday present ever this time!
