nothing found on 7.5 wk scan

Went for my 7.5 week scan yesterday, really excited but nervous too. Devastated to find that there was no embryo remaining. Can't believe that life can be so cruel, it took 4.5 years to get a positive and then that get's taken away too. Feeling totally empty and numb, don't quite know what to do or how to feel.

Have to go back next week for a confirmation scan and then decide whether to have op to remove remaining bits or to stop the pessaries and wait for nature to do it's work. Just dn't know what to do and feel like I just can't take much more.

I'm so sorry Kirstie :( It's awful, just awful.

There are some threads in the loss section that might help you decide what to do next. It feels like a very lonely road when you're going through a loss but there are people here who will help you and support you, who understand what your pain feels like.

I'm so very sorry :( x

Thanks so much girls, it really helps to have your thoughts with us. I'm holding things together and trying to decide what to do next week. I think I will probably opt for the D&C just to have it over there and then and not have to see anything happening if you know what I mean.

You have to do what feels right. Some people prefer to have it over with and some people prefer to let it just happen - there is no right or wrong, just whatever feels the least difficult to cope with.

RE: nothing found on 7.5 wk scan

Oh, I'm so very sorry, life can be so unfair ;(

Same thing happened to me last month and I had D&C at 7.5 weeks. Nothing indicated that it wasn't a normal and healthy pregnancy so the scan was a total shock. I really feel your pain.

Take care of each other :cuddle
