Living in Hope

Well for the past 3 years me and my sons father have been trying to extend our family, the first time around i fell pregnant with my son quickly and spontaniously. This time it is taking for what feels like forever,i got concerned after a year and headed to the doctors. He put me on a course of clomid due to very erratic periods and nil ovulation. I did one cycle before me and my partner split. I'm now with a new partner have been for 7 months and am waiting to see the fertility specialist to see where i can start with still having the same problems, im worried because everytime im late, last period was 44 day cycle i think im pregnant then i feel so depressed and let down when my period finally arrives. I'm hoping the doctors will let me go back onto clomid,as my blood tests still show no ovulation and period still erractic. Anyone with advice,or wants to share stories please leave me a message.

Baby Dust to you all

Hi

I have a daughter who's nearly 2. She was conceived without any problems, and fairly quickly! But we've been trying for a year to expand our family with no success.

So, I have no advice, but wanted to wish you lots of luck on your TTC journey.

My family is complete...I am grateful every day

Hi Julie

No experience of clomid i'm afraid, but just wanted to wish you well.

We also had our DS, now 6, without any problems - in fact we weren't even trying! So i know how it feels when that second baby doesn't come, and how hard it is when you can't get away from other mums/babies/bumps in the school playground.

Good luck.

Thea 33, DH 35
married 1998
ttc 5 yrs
DS conceived naturally born by C-Section Feb 2001
Endo diagnosed Oct 2005
3 laparoscopies, 1 laparotomy, 6 mths Zoladex
Apr 2007 - waiting for MRI to determine Endo activity, then more zoladex.
Should be able to start IVF in Autumn 2007 - at last!

hello julie, i had my little boy 4 yrs ago and started trying for a second practically straight away, i have pcos and i just thought it would take time, my af's were every 35 days and were regular but bloods at the dr's confirmed i was not ovulationg at all.
i was refered to a cons and was told to lose weight i lost 19lb and got given clomid...i fell pg first month but sadly m/c and again on the 3rd cycle but sadly m/c'd again....this pg was a natural cycle but i am still classing it as a clomid baby as if it werent for clomid i would never have ov'd on my own, clomid kick started my ovaries again......i dont see why you wouldnt be give clomid given your test results hun......

ill keep everything crossed for you, sending you huge hugs and babydust

love k xxx

I've never used clomid either, but I hope it works for you. I didn't have either of mine easily, so I can't imagine the difference between conceiving one easily and then a second being difficult to conceive. Wishing you peace in your heart! 8)

i so hope clomid will help me,im not sure id be a strong as you having faced several m/c i just feel like everything is an uphill struggleit seems when you least expect to fall pregant you do and when you want it so badly you dont. Maybe i clearly want it all too much :(

Hi Julie,

Clomid works differently for everyone....I guess it is probably the first starting point if they think you aren't ov'ing.

I fell pregnant first time (but miscarried) and 3rd time (and had DS) with clomid...just over 3 years ago...but now ...it is sending my cycles all over the place.

I would ask and see if they will let you go for it. I hope you have more success that I have had this time.

Rhube x
