Northern Ireland Newbie..what's our next step?

Hi All!
I'm Dee, 29 from NI.
Had my Gp refer me to Gynae/Fertility in April, just had my consult yesterday!
After an internal scan Consultant is happy to refer on to RFC in Belfast - according to him waiting list is approx 3 months for first appointment?
Seems a bit quick for the good oul NHS!

Anyone advise me on what usually happens next..?

Mums Mind :)

Hi
We paid to have the consultation privately ( treatment NHS) and it was 4 week wait. From what I've read on here with things being behind at present it could be 6mobths.... but things might change .

Hi sorry to jump in here but just seeing you mentioned private consult Martha.. myself and my husband were considering this and I just wanted to confirm that you can get a private appointment and then still go on to get NHS treatment as we wouldnt be able to afford both xo

Hi aamiller, yes you can pay for a private appointment and then carry on with NHS for the rest of the treatment. I did this with my first cycle. Just speeds things up a wee bit. The wait is long enough if you can make it a little bit shorter I thought why not. My consultant is Dr McManus, I think it cost around £100. Hope this helps. Xxxxxxxxxx
