Mild PCOS and Chlomid

Hi all, I have been diagnosed with mild PCOS but still having a period each month. My consultant is refusing Chlomid as he says it wont be effective as I am having a period. I have tried ovulation sticks but they don't seem to pick up on anything.

I have concerns that this is simply cost cutting.

Any experiences / information you would like to share would be appreciated.
