Enjoy Arran optimistic! The house you are renting looks lovely! If we'd have another boy we'd call him Arran (only boys name we can agree on) but we've never been to Arran, so better go ourselves for some lucky vibes :) Can't remember if I mentioned we are going to Seville for a week on the 3rd Dec. It's an apartment with internet acces so will still work a bit to earn tapas money. But will be a nice change of scenery.

Lorraine - oh no re the lost post. Look forward to a reconstruction!

Hi folks

I'm new to FZ, but found this thread and wondered if anyone is still on here who is going to GCRM? We have our fertility assessment appointment there this Friday, with follow up consultation booked for 10 March. Haven't booked our consents appointment yet, and not sure what the waiting time is for this at the moment, but hope to get a date sorted out on Friday.

In the meantime we also have an IVF clinic appointment at Ninewells next Monday, but that's really just to get DH's results from the two samples he's had to give them. They've already told us that we'll need IVF/ICSI due to age - I'm 39, DH is 43 and we've been trying for four years without success. They said that we shouldn't waste any more time having further investigations as, whatever the results, we'd still need to go for IVF/ICSI anyway.

As we aren't eligible for NHS funded treatment, we looked at other clinics. Although GCRM isn't the most convenient for us, it does seem to get really good feedback. We've managed to get our test results (Rubella, HIV, Hep, Smear and Day 21 progesterone), so we're taking copies of these with us on Friday...hopefully save us some pennies!

Would be good to hear from anyone else who is going through treatment at GCRM :)

yes deedsie i have just started my first ivf cycle at gcrm and i think im the only one so far on this thread at the moment :)

last friday 17th feb i had my d/r injection and so far the only side effects i have had are hot flushes lol. im just waiting for my period to start then i have my scan and bloods and take it from there :)

when i booked my consents appt in jan i had the appointment 3 days later but the list may have gotten longer now. good luck with getting a speedy one and not having to eait a long time. have you asked the clinic the average waiting time ? though they will prob tell you all this at the fertility assessment appointment as they did with us x we are not eligible for nhs fundeed also as we have a child who is 11. we have infertility as i had blocked tubes, had them unblocked in 2010 and then had an ectopic so now have no tubes (long story lol)

the nurse i see mainly is collette and she is very nice :) actually they all are :) goodluck with your tx and appointments

so i had my period come on wednesday so i rang the clinic to arrange an appointmen and they booked me in for scan and bloods firday at 10.30 which was good. i went in for the scan and she said that my lining was still a bit thick at a 7 but should be at 6 (the way they want it) by the next day (sat morning). The nurse also said i have a follicular cist but not to worry as its prob from the prostap they will monitor it but not to bothered she said and treatment can still go ahead. Alos my left ovary was hiding but she said its normal and should come out to play when i have stimms lol . so although i came out fo there a bit confused it sound like its ok and treatment can still go ahead.

they also said they would ring me in the afternoon with blood results and an indication when i can start stimms. which they did the nurse rang me a 4pm and said my eostrageon levels were where they wanted them to be and that i could start stimms saturday morning the 3rd march. so i did :)

so im on my 2nd days of stimms (menopur) ad dh is doing it for me and its going well so far lol. they have booked me in for a scan on friday 9th march to see how im responding :)

Denise - hope all is going well for you in this cycle! I was at GCRM last Friday too, for my baseline scan. Having treatment abroad but needed a scan in Scotland before starting.

optimistic - hope all is well. I could not get into here for ages (hence I am now Danube2). Have sent you a friend request so I can catch up with your diary!

hi all sorry im a bit late at updating lol

thanks for popping in to check on me girls :)

friday had my scan and there was 4b follies on my left ovary and 4 on my right that was 4mm with a few samller ones so they advised me to keep stiming which i did.

had ano0ther scan today and i have 12 follies most of them on my right. she said i am responding but just a little slow to begin with lol but at least im responding. personally i think they put me on too low a dose to start with hense the slow to start response.

she said i still have the cyst which i had after d/r scan. she took a photo of it as she wasnt sure if it was a cycst from a follie from previous cycle that didnt ovualte or if it was a new follie growing as a result of prostp d\r drug. hope that makes sense.

im going in friday for another scan and have egg collection monday. nurse said all my follies weill be ready by monday which is why im having a scan friday :) so we are gettign there finally

they didnt tell me how big the follies were though thought they would but hey ho never mind

ok so i had a scan friday they said then that egg collection was delayed until tuesday as i was not ready so i was to do my trigger shot sunday night. Then i had a phoncecall friday afternoon to say that egg collection was delayed until wednesday now as my eostragoen (sp?) levels were not high enough and that i would be doing trigger shgot monday night but still had to go fro scan monday. lol

so although i have responded its a slow processf or me foir some reason, dont know why as im healthy apart from the lack of tubes lol and im only 28 so i think they should of put me on a higher dose to start with ?? i dont know

so i went in yesterday and was told that i was ready for collection on wednesday and i had to do my trigger shot at 7.30 last night which is what i did and it was ok ;) sh did all my stimms injections so i did this one as i wanted to do at least one lol

so im deffo in for egg collection tomorrow at 7 30 in morning :)

Newbie

Hi everyone,

I'm new on here and my OH and I are thinking of trying the GCRM for our 4th cycle. We've not had the best of treatment or rather outcome at Ninewells, Dundee, so we may try GCRM later this year. I have a follow up at Ninewells middle of April, so I want to get that out of the road before we see the GCRM. We're thinking we may try chromosome testing next cycle, if I have enough eggs as I've never had a bfp.

So I've read a few of the last pages and see really that Dee you're the only one, I think that's going through treatment at the GCRM just now. How did it all go. Did you get any embies transferred?

Ok so i had egg collection on wednesday 12st march which went really well :) they got 7 eggs when they only expected 3 as i was a slow responder, the next day they phoned to tell me that all of my eggs had fertilised and they phoned me again friday and saturday and they were still all growing well, so they decided to push them to blastocyst. :)

On monday 26th march i went in for my transfer and was told that i had 1 embryo at 3AA , 5 at 2AA and one that was slow and wouldnt make it to freeze or anything. So both me dh and the embryologist decided that one embryo was to be put back and then i would have 5 to freeze. They put back the 3AA blastocyst and them froze the 5 2AA Blasts for a future FET.

So now im 2dp5dtand feeling very positive and i hope and pray that it works fx

Hi Evie,

as you can see from my last post today i had 7 eggs collected and all fertilised and by day 5 blast stage i had 1 embryo at 3AA AND 5 at 2AA so i had the best but back which was they 3AA and had 5x 2AA embies frozen for FET. the other one was very behind and therefore was discarded. I hope this helps you.

I have to say though, whether this cycle works or not the service we have recieved from GCRM is fantastic to ay the least, they are very professional and no question is to trivial for them as they have heard it all. this is my first cycle and will be using them again whether it works or not.

if you have any further questions then please dont hestitate to ask :) :)

gl with your decision

Thanks for replying Dee, Your treatment has gone so well. I would have loved to have gotten to the stay of frosties but it's never happened ever on three cycles. Infact never made any to day 5 to be blastos.

I made the appt yesterday with GCRM for a consultation, so we're going down on the 26th April. It will be interesting to see what they say.

Good luck with your ET. It all sounds so positive for you, I'm sure it will work. If not you have brilliant frosties to fall back on!

Hey Denise - sending you lots of pma and sticky vibes while you are on your 2 ww, it's torture I know but fingers and toes crossed it will all be worth it!

Wallie - good luck with your consultation on the 26th. I can't recommend GCRM enough. We too were at ninewells before hand and we had 3 unsuccessful IUI then abandoned a cycle of IVF with them (we were paying) due to their inability to communicate properly and they messed up our cycle. We then went to GCRM and now have a gorgeous 8month old son and 6 little blastos in the deep freeze! We were very lucky with our cycle but can't fault the staff at GCRM at all, they answered every question we had. (I have to say in ninewells defence after slating them that I was admitted to hospital just after ET with severe OHSS and was in there for just over 4 weeks and they were so lovely and really looked after me well especially Dr Low)!

Anyway good luck ladies and I look forward to hearing some cracking news from you soon D xxxxxx

Back on the Rollercoaster!

Hello there,

Wow it seems hugely quiet on here - is anyone still around? I am an oldie from a way back when in 2009... when we had ICSI at the GCRM while waiting for our NHS round. It was a failed cycle and then after 3 IUIs at the GRI and one MC - we had two little monkeys who are now 5! We are embarking back down the TX route for one more try after unsuccessfully TTC on our own for the last 5 yrs!

I can't believe how much I have forgotten about what all happens! EEK! Had Ovarian Assessment and Sperm Analysis this week, consultation and consents next week and then hopefully af will arrive and we will be good to go! (A lot trickier having to sort out childcare for appts etc.

Hoping they will let us do IUI, even though they told us originally it wouldn't work and actually the ICSI didn't and two out of three IUIs were successful. Fingers crossed!

Just wanted to say hi if there was anyone else out there cycling at the moment or anyone that has a fresher memory of it all than I do! :) xx

Hey Julz
We were also ttc back in 2009 at GCRM! I'm pretty sure we were chatting at the time :-)

We were extremely lucky that our 1st ICSI cycle was successful and we had our gorgeous daughter! We then tried for a second cycle of ICSI in 2013 which was also resulted in a BFP!!! Another girl!!! This was a tricky cycle- pregnancy but all turned out well in the end!!!

ALSO after 8 visits to my G.P last year and 8times being told I'm just out of breath because of a slipped disc in my back.... I was actually PREGNANT

First ICSI Dec '09 :BFP: :weehee:

Hey guys

Is anyone around these days? We are cycling again in February with GCRM after having our DD in 2014.

Here us a little about me and our ivf cycle with GCRM

In 2011 i lost both fallopian tubes due to ruptured ectopic pregnancy.

In 2012 first fresh ivf resulted in 7 eggs. All fertilised but only 6 made it.

First transfer was a bfp but ended at miscarriage at 11 weeks (may 2012)
This left 5 frozen embryos.
First natural fet was BFN (August 12)
Second FET was bfp followed by miscarriage (march 13)
3rd FET (August 13) BFP twins but miscarriage of 1 but other was my rainbow Dd born in may 14.
4th FET of 2 last 2 frozen embryo was (Feb 16) BFN
August 16 fresh cycle number 2 cancelled due to lack of response to mexs

February / march 17 -3rd Fresh cycle --Due to lack of response my menopur has been upped to 300 for this cycle
