FSH 18.6, Testosteron normal, Male infertility

Hi All,

My husband had his sperm test where it showed there is no swimmers what so ever. His FSH is 18.6 where norm is 18.1 and his testosteron in normal. Doctor gave us referral to IVF clinic. i need to go through whole process and when i am ready they will do biopsy on my husband and if there will be sperm they will use it and if not then no. It all sounds really pointless to me. why do i have to go through whole process if there is big chance that there is no sperm. has any one had similar problem? I would appreciate any advise at this point. Thank you
