Difficult embryo transfer - affect chances ?

Hi ladies,

Just had my embryo transfer and am so upset. It has been relatively easy every other time (although I hate it!) but this time a nurse did it and came across and obstruction. She was really hurting me getting a stiff catheter to try and force through it. Eventually she went to get a dr to do it who was a bit better but still had to force through the obstruction. Now I'm upset as I have read a number of medical journals that say a difficult transfer halves your chance of success ! Does anyone have any experience of this ? Already feel like my chances are really low and this is my last frostie so really panicking.

Thanks.

Bess xx

Aw Bess I'm so sorry to hear that. My first ET was awful - I cried with the pain but i got a bfp. It ended in a mc at 7 weeks but ET wouldn't have affected that. My second ET was better than the first but still not great and resulted in my DD so try not to lose hope! Xxx

Bess I'm so sorry, that sounds horrendous for you. Try and not read too much online because I have learned the hard way how that can freak you out and be misleading. Your embryos are safely on board where they should be and that's what matters. During my egg collection they told me I had quite a big bleed during the procedure and I read online that can mean things won't go well, but I went on to transfer and got a bfp. Try and relax if you can and recover from your transfer.

Hi Bess,

All my ET were difficult and the Dr always had trouble inserting the catheter, but I went on to have a BFP's. Try to relax as much as possible and good luck :sticky: xx
