Panicking, advise please

Hi all, I'm having in a complete panic, when I was reading my ds a bedtime story I found a lump on the side of his neck! I can't see it, just felt it, it's soft and moves and he says it doesn't hurt. Ay ideas what this could be before I have a complete melt down???

Thank you for replying x. He's not had an infection, he has had flu tho, still has a bit of a cough and is a little snotty. Otherwise he's great, loads of energy and lovely appetite. Do you think it could be related? X

Hi Cheryl, it sounds like a swollen lymph node, which would make sense if your wee guy's had flu symptoms. I have one that always flares up on the right side of my neck whenever I've had any sort of bug - it's squishy and painless too! I know it's hard not to panic, but if he's feeling well otherwise then try not to worry too much, it'll probably go down in a few days. It's always worth getting him checked out at the docs next week though if you're still concerned. How are you getting on otherwise? I remember chatting with you on here when we were both preggers - my wee man's just two days younger than yours!

Lxx :)

Thank you fr responding, I think you're probably right just freaked me when I felt it, will get him in drs next week tho just to be sure. I see you're pregnant again, congratulations, how's it going? I've just had a failed FET, I'm gutted but have come to terms with it I think, have a follow up on 18th so will see what the consultant thinks xx

Lol, I'm pretty sure we probably all had the same panics hun! Yeah, it's always best to get them checked out at the docs for the reassurance at least. I'm sure swollen glands are a common symptom of flu, glad he's feeling well now :) I am really sorry to hear about the FET, do you think you'll have another shot? Hope the follow-up gives you some answers. I'm doing ok thanks, has been a rocky road too but hoping things will work out this time xfingers A few of us are still popping in to the parenting chat now and again, if you ever fancy a blether about the terrible threes! Take care xxx

Sounds like a lymph node to me. My son is same age and just had two that appeared after a suspected case of slapped cheek.

All blood tests came back neg and they have gone down.

But definitely worth getting it checked.x
