First normal AF

My first AF arrived exactly 7weeks after having Zachary, it started off really light spotting which made me wonder if it was AF, but now 3 days later it is literally (TMI) dripping out, lots of clots aswell!!
Is this normal? I've never really had 'normal' periods!! And barely had a proper one for about a year and a half down to all the drugs and obviously pregnancy!!
I really don't want to leave the house, it's that heavy :(
Please someone tell me it's normal, I was going to get a doctors app but just thought they'd think I was wasting there time!! ;)

I'm sure I've read somewhere here about the first one being pretty bad. Hopefully someone with experience will put your mind at rest xx

Yeah think I read that too, but wasn't expecting it to be this bad :S
Bit of a shock when you haven't had one for a while ;)

I think it's best you get checked out by your GP.

I don't know what others af's were like but mine have been much lighter since having our girls (apart from the 12 day one I had last month) and the first one after each birth was easy compared with what I used to have.

:hello:

I would say get it checked out, you shouldn't feel like you are wasting your GP's time, if you are worried then go. My AFs were awful, I had to change the largest tampon known to man every hour or so and I couldn't use my Mooncup anymore. It was getting to the stage where I was going to go to the doc but I luckily got pg instead so hopefully will have a nice long time off from AF as will be BFing again too.
