1 Embryo Transfer

we had 7 eggs collected and 5 fertilized, today got to the clinic for the embryo transfer and found out that currently day 5 there was only one viable ! is it jsut me or have others felt so dissapointed, I cried for what seemed hours ?

Are there any ladies who have just had 1 embryo transfered and have a BFP or that have had an embryo split ?

The embryo that makes it to day 5 is the best one, so that will increase your chances of success. Obviously it's disappointing to have made 7 eggs and have no spare embryos, so it's normal to feel upset.

Take care and babydust

I'm cuddling my single embryo right now! I had one transfered which resulted in my little boy. There have been lots of successes on here with singles so please don't lose hope. You asked about embryos splitting and there is at least one pregnant lady on here expecting identical twins from a single embryo.

Good Luck x

Congratulations on being PUPO! It's not just you - it is really disappointing when you don't have any to freeze. I was really hoping for some but I made 6 eggs and had two fertilize and survive to day 3, which is when I had them put back. I know you're looking for single embryo transfer success stories so I'm sorry that I can't help you out there. Having read other people's stories, I get the impression that its more common NOT to have any to freeze.

You've got a lovely blasto embie ... keeping my fingers crossed for you xxx

I'm not sure but I think CT might have been referring to me! We had 4 fertilised eggs and, although they all made it so day 5, we were only allowed to have one put back as I'm still considered to be young in the ttc world.

Anyway, our one little embryo did split and we are expecting identical twins. It was a complete shock when I found out but it's started to sink in now.

Stay strong and remain positive...you will get your BFP!
