Hi ladies,

Becky how did your insem go? Sarah how are you doing?

My insem went fine. I have had my post IUI Hcg shot and now the wait babydust

. It has been a rough week though becase both DH and I have been suffering through winter colds :poorly:

. I have been very careful about what I take just in case.

hope you are coping with the wait OK. I hope your cold is better too. I've had a bad cold recently and the norovirus :poorly:

I'm hoping that's it for the winter now! I really hope it works for you this time - the odds must be in your favour by now, got everything crossed for you again babydust

Rebekah - hope all is OK with you and you are keeping positive.

I had a nurse planning appt today at the clinic. They have put me on the pill (microgynon) so that they can control my cycle and the next tx will fall in my Easter hols at work. There should only be one appt (the baseline scan) that I have to take time off for - this makes it so much easier. My baseline scan is booked for 27th March. Everything else is the same as last time - they are keeping me on 75units of Menopur every 2nd day as they said this is the lowest dose - I guess it works out as 37.5units per day so it makes sense. I also changed my donor to one who has proven fertility which I'm a lot happier about. Can't wait to start now - I have a good feeling about this one smile2

I take it that it 54x106 actually means 54x10 to the power of 6 - i.e. 54 million?
If that is the case then you had 122 million after wash. I have no idea what they mean by motile into the uterus - Did they or did they not transfer all after the wash. Unless, of course, they diluted it a bit prior to transfer giving you rhe 46 million. Either way, that is a very good number in my opinion as I know of a number of women who only get between 5 and 10 million transfered and still got BFP's.

And after saying all that I have to add: Please don't overanalyse everything, Hun. They would have said if the count was not good and the last thing you need right now is more stress...

the stats for iui are 6 - 26% and of those that work 23 - 30% are multiple.

i all started iui with nasal spray on the 5th. on day eight of injections had first scan yesterday there were 2 follicles at 10cm have another scan tomorrow need to get them to 18cm. nurse told me not to worry as there were a lot of follicles maturing so that is why it is taking a bit longer

anyone else have tender abdomen, back pain nausea r headaces

I hope everyone is doing well. Becky how are you holding up hun? Sarah so glad you set up a new donor and feel good about it! You doing okay with the wait? You getting excited for another go?

Hi to Nicloa and Emma are you both on your first IUI cycle?

I am good. My winter cold is all better. We have had some crazy weather here in the States! It snowed 3 days ago and today is was 73 degrees. Well AF was due today and nothing... I cannot test til Monday so I will just have to stay positive and try not to analyze every ache pain or cramp. [zx253]

Emma do you know when your op is to unblock your tube is yet? Rebekah how are you coming along hun? Thanks for the support Rene! Well here we are another 2 days later and still no AF! And I do not really feel like it is coming. 2 more days to test. I will keep you all posted as we need some BFP's here. It has been a few months since we have had one.

Hi girls. My OTD is Tuesday.

Mommywishes - cramps are very very normal. Even ones that feel like you'll start af any moment! I've had them and most of my pregnant friends have. Good luck!! Are u testing Monday or Tuesday or this week? X

Nicola- I agree with rene. Your body does have to get used to a variety of drugs so u can get symptoms but if they become worse just go to the doctor x

I didn't realise that's where you lived rene! :-)

ATM I'm getting cramps every day most of the day. Having a blood test tomorrow to confirm things! :-) x

Hey Rebekah! My official test is tomorrow then call the RE to schedule blood test.... BUT I got impatient and took a test this morning and got BFP!!! I will take another tomorrow just to confirm. I just couldn't wait any longer I was so excited because I have never made it this close to test day with no AF. DH and I are bubbling with excitement! Good luck with your results. Do you find out your blood test results right away or do you have to wait? babydust

Symptoms have subsided now. Have another scan in the morning so hopefully the follicles have grown

They haven't up my dose of gonal f currently on 75 just
If things don't change tomorrow should I ask

It's great to see two BFPs!!!! It really does give me and everyone else hope that IUI does work. There haven't been any IUI BFPs that I know of since I started my first IUI in Nov 11 and I was starting to think it was a rare thing but this proves otherwise. Great news!!!!

Well had my scan this morning. thinking it would be my last scan was thinking out of the box.
This cycle has been abandoned my follicles went nuts over the weekend and had 5 follicles at over 20mm.
So its just a waiting game till my period so i can start a new cycle :-(

Hi Nicola, I'm sorry your cycle was abandoned - do your clinic not do cyst aspiration? I was allowed to go ahead with 4 follies last time but if it had been just 1, 2 or 3 more than that I could have had an aspiration so I could still go ahead. It seems a shame to abandon the whole cycle when there is something they can do ?o(

I have just joined this forum, been TTC for 18 months without success. All test say things are fine so fall into the unexplained category. Clinic appointment yesterday and due to start on menopur injections daily at my next cycle. Bit nervous about the whole process so great to have this support site.

It's good to have another friend on the IUI board as it can be very quiet here. Do you know when you are likely to start your cycle. I know my baseline scan is on 27th March and I start injecting suprecur and menopur injections then too - maybe we will cycle together? :thumbsup:

I have nothing to report other than I'm still waiting... feels like it's been forever since my last cycle. Still, 2 weeks today and the excitement begins! (8 o)

Oh would be good to have someone on cycle at same time! My time of month temperamental at times so not 100% sure when it's due (5.5 weeks last month and 3 weeks this month!). If goes to plan due to start on first week in April so might be just behind!!!

Got my bag of needles and syringes etc so just waiting to start. Hubby also packing in drinking as moral support. I've lost 2.5 stones to get to this point so he's giving up on social drinking to show support!

Hi hopefully - we should be cycling very close to one another. I've worked out that if my cycle goes smoothly like last time I should have insem around 10th April. I'm a bit worried about the Easter closing at the clinic as I have worked out I would need an appt at this time. I am going to ask about this at my baseline scan on 27th- only 9 days now!!!! My meds are Being delivered next sat and I will start injecting on 27th - I'm almost looking forward to that bit again, I think because I know I'm starting to create a baby :-).

Well I have my first acupuncture on weds. I thought I would try it this time. Excited about that too. I am having 6 sessions as that's all I can afford, just hope it makes a difference.

Hope everyone else is ok, it's so quiet here.

We are really lucky where we live in the North East, we are getting 3 cycles on NHS and if they are not successful they will fund 2-3 cycles of IVF. Hopefully you won't need all 6 that you can afford, that way you can buy more baby things when it eventually happens!!

Its hard at the moment as one of my closest friends (I was her bridesmaid) is due to give bith any day now. I am so delighted for her and her hubby (they were due to start on clomid but fell naturally on the cycle before she was due to start) but also a little jealous ! Hopefully this time next year it could be us!

Got a couple more weeks to wait before my cycle starts again. I have to baseline scan and the hospital will give us prescription for meds that day. I work as a community therapist so will have to look at the times of day for the injections!

Hi, im just wondering if anyone can help, i have just been reffered to hexham for iui and am aware after reading some of your posts that there are alot of scans involved, i was wondering how much time off work is needed roughly each month so i can hopefully speak with my boss about it and also what happens in your first consultation (i have had a couple of scans already and blood tests and my DH has had his tests which everything came back fine x ?o(

The amount of time that you will need to take off will vary depending on a number of factors

1) how far do you live and/or work from the clinic and how long do you wait to be seen - I could drive to the clinic from work, have my scan and get back in under an hour
2) When do you have your first scan and how frequently thereafter? Some ladies have had to go for scans on day 1 of their cycle then day 9 and ever 2 days thereafter, some went for their first scan on day 11, some had no scans as they were doing natural IUI and would only go in for insemination when they got a positive OPK test - and these are but a few variations
3) If you are on stims, how well you respond to them - I have had cycles where I had 2 scans before insem and others where I had as many as 8 or 9

What to expect from the first consultation:
This varies as well. At my first consultation the procedure was discussed, all the questions were asked again and an HSG was requested as it had not been done before. Some clinics will only request an HSG at a later stage, some don't request them at all, and I have also heard of cases where all the blood tests and semen analysis had to be repeated as they had been done too long before the consultation.

Also, although you have been referred for IUI, they may recommend that a different treament is needed and/or will discuss the options available to you.
Remember to ask how long the waiting list is for the clinic as you may not be able to have the first treatment for a while...

Hi everyone - hope you are all enjoying the gorgeous weather :o)

I went out without a coat and sunglasses today - it just seems to make everyone so much happier.

Had baseline scan today and all seems good - lining thin and just one small cyst which shouldn't be a problem. Injected first suprecur tonight and start on menopur tomorrow. First post stim scan next Weds so fingers crossed. :thumbup:

Ama - definitely test on test day. I've heard so many stories of people who bleed (even heavily) and are still pregnant. Don't lose hope.

I have nothing to report really. A few twinges in my ovaries which is hopefully a good sign. Finished work today for 2 weeks

It's the Easter holidays from school. This was the whole idea of having the treatment at this time - so I could relax during it. Looking forward to the lie -ins

thanks for your reply, unfortunatly i am about an hour and a half driving distance from the hospital (even though it is my closest!!) and am still awaiting for my initial appointment although i have had an hsg and blood tests etcand everything has been ok. I suppose it is just a waiting game until i get there and see what they reccomend, and thanks for saying to ask about waiting times as when i get to the appointment everything will go out of my head do you have any other advice for what i should be asking? It is just starting to feel real now :-(

How is everyone doing?

Sarah how are your doing hun? Is it almost time for your IUI? I am wishing you all the best luck!

I see a few new names here. Looks like things are picking up a bit.

AFM... I will be back with you all for a bit longer. Unfortunately my little one was not meant to be this time around. DH and I are still grieveing for our loss, it gets a bit easier everyday, but we decided to get back on plan. Now I have to wait for AF to come around again before we can start. Not sure how long that will be as the MC just occurred this past week and my doctor told me that I would spot for a 2 to 3 weeks yet. My RE said we can start again on my next cycle.
