Got another scan booked for 3rd Jan. Hopefully we will see big changes! DH is finally starting to get excited. We have just had dinner with all of his family and shown them the scan pic. I'm well but always hungry. Ate all three courses for the first time in years! X

Oh yes, big changes, maybe even some tiny wriggles too...

Good for you! You'll be burning loads of calories now anyway so go for it! Christmas holidays - what a perfect time to be hungry! :snigger:  It's so cute when you see the happy look on DH's face and know they're slowly catching up to you!

Your family must be soo happy too, what a lovely setting to show them the photo ^^

Enjoy being pampered and don't forget the snacks in-between meals too ;)

Been looking stuff up online and in 2009 17 people were treated with PGD at my clinic but i can't find any annual report online for 2010 andhopeuflly there will be a 2011 one soon!

Hope youre all doing great [zx127]

Thank you. Feeling rather nervous now! Will hopefully have another picture to show off tomorrow! Back to work tomorrow and I look at least 6 months pregnant! Not sure how I'm going to hide it from the kids for another couple of months!
Hope everyone had a super New Year. This will be the year for a lot of you. Try to enjoy it! x

Good luck Whiteangel! Hopefully lots of baggy winter jumpers will work to keep the kids minds averted?

I'm trying not to over-eat anymore now that the festive season is pretty much over, but it's soo hard for me not to! :snigger: I'm consoling myself with the hope that I'll have morning sickness pretty soon and so need to build up my stores for when I don't feel like eating anymore! ;)

Well AF arrived on Friday so I've got my baseline scan tomorrow and can hopefully start progynova to build up my lining. I have a stinking cold though, so really hope it goes quickly.

My wish for 2012 is healthy babies for us all, I really hope this is our year.

Hi, sorry I didn't make it on yesterday, busy first day back to work! I've attached my photo. Not sure if it is a seahorse or a penguin but it is definitely growing! Measuring a little small but could see it moving and a heart beat so the nurses and doctor weren't worried. I'm trying not to be!
Great that you have got started Hopeful. Try to take it easy when you get chance and make the most of the free conference food! x

Tee-hee, yes I was sneaking onto FZ, making the most of my alone time in the hotel room while my colleague was still out! Early to bed for me today though  or I may hear my alarm tomorrow and just switch it off anyway... :innocent:

Now is definitely a good time for chasing up your clinic Lightning, most of them stop a lot of the lab work over the Christmas period so it should still be quiet enough for them to look into matters for you. I hope you get some good news! xfingers and paper copies of your reports too, to save you having to remember everything.

I'm going to call the hospital that did my miscarriage tests too. A friend who I recently found out was TTC is actually 12weeks pregnant (I've seen her twice since mid-November but she just told me a few days ago. She was very sensitive about it though...) Anyway she says she found out her thyroid hormones were elevated and says I should get mine checked just in case. Now I have a feeling they tested me for everything under the sun including thyroid function (over two appointments I think there were maybe 10 tubes in total?!), but I really can't remember. If they did then the result was normal as they couldn't find a reason for our loss, but if not then I'll ask for it to be done. I'm sure it can't hurt to check...

Back to work tomorrow but at least it's Friday! Must try and fit in some clothes shopping this weekend :S Wish me luck haha!

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I have not been posting in a wee while, I have been keeping up to date with all your progress tho!

AFM - still a waiting game at the moment, waiting on the final call to say our probes are finished, I heard from the hospital about 4 weeks ago, they need myself and DH to supply more blood, they said the probes were ALMOST FINISHED! 4 weeks have past, HURRY UP!

The lovely nurse explained that when probes are finished she will call us to go up and fill out all the forms and paperwork, she said there will also be lots of reading for us to do. She also mentioned that we might need to wait until new funding begins, which could be April. By the time April comes our TTC journey will be about 3.5 years! I am just so tired ...

Hope you are all well.

Please follow my BLOG, join me on my journey! Our Journey through IVF PGD

Lightning that's fantastic news, April will be here in no time! At least you can start your folic acid etc now (if you haven't already). Only 3 more AFs to go! :weehee:

Then xfingers xfingers xfingers it will be you next Hope2011

I called the hospital, they did test my thyroid back in May and the levels were totally normal. I'm not surprised really, it is good that I don't have this added issue though. I just hope that everything goes well and we get to bring our baby home next time  I'm having a scan this Friday to assess my lining thickness, then hopefully beginning progesterone injections over the weekend for an ET next week Friday.

:hi: whiteangel you just pipped me to the post!

Bye for now, catch up with you all soon.

Dear all,

I'm just popping in quickly before I go for my lunch! Not had time to read everyone's posts yet but it seems like there has been some great news since last time I was on so Congratulations ladies!

DH and I went to last appointment with clinic last week and the good news is that they are going to ask our PCT for funding for us! I couldn't believe it! She did say that it would probably mean going to Guys but I don't mind the travelling as long as we get a go!

Can anyone shed any light as to how long the funding decision is likely to take? Do you think there is anything else I can do to speed things up? Shall I contact GUYS anyway and start the proceedings as we will pay for 1 treatment ourselves if we are not successful in getting funding?

Thanks all

We got our funding through before we even realised we had applied! That bit was really quick. Guy's are a nightmare when it comes to trying to speak to people on the phone. What they do is amazing, I'm proof, but communication is not a strong point. Be prepared to leave lots of messages and not always get calls back. I would recommend ringing over and over again until you manage to speak to someone. I made the mistake of leaving a message then waiting a fortnight before realising that no one was going to ring me, it was up to me to bug them! Good luck with getting started and hope your PCT are as quick as ours to approve your funding xx

Well theres just general patient registration forms for you and DH, general screening questionnaire (eg any criminal offences, previous children etc) and the rest are consent forms that are filled in at the appointment but you have to read over them before you go

:hello: :hello:

Hey Lightning, how did your form filling go? There is a LOT of paperwork, but at least it means you're getting closer!
And it's April for you too Hope2011 xfingers! I hope they can complete your work-up and send your paperwork through soon too.

Rianon how are you and your family? that DH is feeling better and getting all of the treatment he needs [zx127]

Happy 12 weeks Whiteangel! It's amazing how much detail you can see now, have fun at your scan on Monday - and telling your class! I bet you'll get questions all day long! :D

Gingerbean that's fab news that you could get funding! They'll let you know if there's anything you can do, like writing a short statement about yourselves and your situation and why funding would be beneficial for you. It may not speed up the process, but it would be nice to go into the application, making it a bit more personal... ?( xfingers xfingers xfingers

Well we had our ET yesterday happydance I'm feeling "cautiously optimistic" and just hoping and praying that we get another chance to have our baby in our arms :angel2: Got a nice relaxing long weekend ahead so I'm going to make the most of it and watch as many movies and comedies as I can! biggrin2

Just recieved the news that my best friend is pregnant after trying for 2 months. Of course I am happy for her and I wish her a very healthy and safe pregnancy. Is it normal for me to feel utterly devastated at the same time? Thats 4 of my friends (all in the same crowd) pregnant at the SAME TIME! That just leaves 3 of us without children

I am now dreading the little 'catch up' I have organised for ALL my friends at my house on the 18th Feb, everywhere I turn there will be a preganant friend!

I am really beginning to struggle with all of this x x

Oh hunny [zx127] It is completely normal to feel that way, I've certainly been there and I know many many others have too. It's difficult and probably something that you'll still feel even when you have your own little one, as they just won't understand the heartache and waiting you have to do for the same opportunity of happiness. I know your DH doesn't really want to discuss your situation with others, but do you have one of your friends that you can confide in and who will maybe cover for you if you find the catch-up too much and need a break?

I find it manageable when I tell myself that it's not that I'm NOT happy for them, I'm just sad for myself. Just think how truly precious your little one will be when they're finally in your arms, and how much you will fully appreciate the gift you will be given. Stay strong, xfingers you'll be expecting your own by the time they give birth! [zx127]

Hope I know exactly what you mean my best friend from school announced on FB she is pregnant (early as she works in a vet so had to out herself) then the next thing she is posting about how they cant agree on names etc and Im thinking FFS she knows exactly what Im going through yet they just dont seem to get it do they. My current best friend whose horse I ride since she had her baby last year is the opposite she cares too much and makes an effort not to talk about her kids to me which does hurt too actually :-( Im hard to please lol

Just had a nice hot mil hot chocolate and settled in front of the TV for the evening. No munchies as Im doing healthy eating grrr lol

Oooh exciting Hopeful hope they are getting cosy in there!!!

Thanks lightning! Just the one little embie for us to reduce the chance of twins, but if we get identicals I won't complain!

Hmm, I avoid FB a lot now, far too many pregnancy announcements. Since our miscarriage in May there have been four pregnancy announcements and they get me in the heart every time. Aside from FB, four work colleagues have given birth, another old colleague has told me she's pregnant, due in July and another friend started trying for a baby in December. Seriously!

Just waiting for the day when it will be us with our healthy miracles

Thank you for your kind words ladies, I am so fortunate to have these sites as support. Obv I cant speak to friends about how I feel, they would think i was jealous and its not that at all. I am just hurting and feeling it everytime one of them falls pregnant. I am happy for them tho but in my own way, if that makes sense.

Life can be so cruel at times! We will ALL get there tho, our time will come

Hopeful - thats great hon to see you have a wee embie on board, I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you hon
