Hi Rico, lucky you on the short, must say this long feels like it goes on forever. Guess it will be worth it if I get :BFP: Lets hope your AF gets a move on so you can get started.

Hi Claire, I think you'll love Care. They have been fabulous. Because its small it feels very personal and the staff are just lovely. Even when you phone up they can't do enough to help. The consultant said they have a better percentage of success than SM's so fingers crossed this is your time xxxxx

AFM Well the Menopur is a little tricky getting it all up the bloody needle :-) Then today I was spotting. Started to panic as thats not supposed to happen. Phoned Care and they said its probably from my scan yesterday. It is brown so at least its not fresh blood. I'm to phone back if it gets worse. Just praying it goes away!!

Hiya everyone yeah I had ec saturday we got 13 eggs but only 7 were mature enough, ICSI performed & 3 fertilised & we've been today & had 2 embryos transferred. I think they said one was grade 1 & the other was grade 3 so now I'm just keeping everything crossed that they snuggle down & develop over the next two weeks. Thankyou all for thinking about us it means a lot to know we've got all your support. Trolleydolly hows the menopur going? I started clexane injs last night & gave myself a very big bruise hit a blood ves, was really worried about doing it tonight but it went ok thank goodness! Claire I'm sure you'll like Care its very different from sm, we didn't find sm that good & Care have been fine.

Amy thats brilliant news!! You're now officially PUPO :weehee:

Got everything crossed for you. You must take it so easy now, especially for the next couple of days. :coffee:

Keep us posted on how you're getting on and lets hope those little embies are bedding down nice and tight. I heard pineapple can make the uterus soft and hospitable lol. :sticky:

AFM, I was drawing up the menopur last night and the needle came off, the liquid went everywhere. Not finding this nurse thing very easy [zx005]

Sorry Gingerbean, I can't help xx

xfingers for you Amy!

Can I just ask.... when we went to the info evening at CARE, they said in young people like ourselves, they don't like putting 2 back because of the risks with twins...
How did you have 2 put back, because I would also want 2 putting back!? [zx127]

Amyeliz they don't like putting 2 back but this is our 3rd cycle & our embryo number has always been low we've never got any to freeze. This cycle we got 3 embies, but on day3 one had stopped developing so was no good & we had a grade.1 & a grade.3 the embryologist said she'd chosen grade.1 to be transferred & I asked about the grade.3 which she agreed could be transferred if the Dr gave the ok, which he agreed as its our 3rd try & an immune protocol & also they would not of frozen as grade.3 I think it just depends on individual circumstances if you get a good number of embryos/ quality embryos then they probably wouldn't they'd rather freeze. Hope this helps xxxx

Amy new things come along all the time and one thing you do have on your side is time. If this is something you really want then never give up the fight. Even if it takes years and all your spare cash you can't give up. A girl on another site posted this and I thought it was quite apt. Hold on to your dreams hun xxxxxxxxxxxxx

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Hi

We got our funding transferred from St Mary's to Care by writing to our PCT! Because it's a private clinic you have to have reasons as to why you shoul have your tx at a private clinic rather than an NHS hospital, which for us was becasuse they did a procedure that my DH needed that St Mary's coludn't do! I would get in touch with your PCT and find out who you need to write to and then put together a good letter explaining why you wnat it to be transferred!

Hope this helps hun xx

Hi
Care have a full breakdown of fees on their website. Each cycle has cost us about £5000 altogether but we need ICSI which adds nearly a £1000 to the bill. My doctor will only prescribe meds that arent just for IVF. Anything that is an IVF drug I have to pay for. I hope this helps

Hello Everyone,

its been a long time since I came into this forum, hope all of you are doing well and have got your BFPs....

Thanks Gemma for the information about the NHS funds transfer from Manchester PCT to Manchester Care!.
it took few months for that to materialize but it has eventually come and we have since collected the funds and done the treatment at CARE.

I am now in the 2ww wait..
I did a long protocol and I had 10 follicles retrieved and retrieved 7 matured follicles that was used for ICSI , 4 fertilized and got to the 3 days good grade 8 cell embryo and biopsy was done.

Two came back with abnormal chromosomes and 2 proceeded to the blast stage (one was begining to hatch and the other early blast).

The two were transfered back yesterday so I am now in the waiting stage.

I feel very optimistic about this cycle and fingers crossed for BFP.... I need prayers girls (put me in your prayer thanks).
So far no signs of anything just as yet.

Hi Ameyliz,
thanks alot for your wishes!

We have a male factor infertility a one a failed IVF last year and above 40 yrs age group, so we decided to optimize the protocol by doing the PGD testing before implantation and this is done on the 3 day old embryo.

Oh well I just hope it was worth it still waiting  , 11 days to go .
hope you are doing well

Hi Alibabs, congrats on being PUPO !!! I'm at care Manchester too. Hope you don't mind if I ask a quick Q, I opted for testing too on my last cycle but they told me that they had changed the protocol and I could only have it if the embies made it to day 5. Did they mention this to you? I was gutted as they went on to say that they didn't think they would make it to day 5 so I was better off just having them back on day 2 without any testing. As it happened 2 made it to blast and are now frosties. I hope you don't mind me aski, it's just it cost us so much more and we were so disappointed and think we may have been mis informed !

Hmmmm, do CARE seem to be keen to push everyone towards cgh at the mo?? Surely it can't be about making money out of us!? This includes me & I've never had more than 2 embies to put back!! So we said we didn't want it as it was pointless, yet there it was in black & white in a letter this morn (along with the wrong protocol!!).

This has rather annoyed me & made me somewhat nervous. :(

Good luck Aibabs

Hi, chaterbox

Just after some advice, did you have your immune tests at care? we went for a consultation last week with dr patel we are unexplained, we where hoping for advice on what treatment to do instead he only told us the options that where available and said it had to be our decision so totaly confused, he mentioned the immune tests and having a biopsy on the embryos. He said if we wanted the tests done was up to us. I printed out a sheet of all the tests and might take them to the gp to see if they will do any for us.

Hi Chloe
I did have my tests at CARE. In fact we moved to CARE because of a belief I had immune issues. So when we saw Mr Patel he was already in possession of my results, do he knew what he was dealing with. He suggested that there was no point in cgh for us due to low embryo numbers.

Perhaps in your case he doesn't want to pressurise you into tests as it's an expensive business? Though testing, while costly, will rule out some major issues for you. For me it was the best move ever! GP's can be a bit funny about testing, my surgery have totally black balled anything IVF related!

I didn't know Mr Patel was back - he's been recovering from surgery. I was seen by a different consultant this time. I'm pleased to know he's back, and think I'll ask to speak to him, or at least get him to look over this "new" protocol!

Hi Bess,
Well on how we were informed during the consultation, the chromosomes screening would be done on day 3 embryo and then they let them grow further to blast at day 5 before transfer. it was really expensive for us to do this I just hope it is worth it..

I wonder why they did'nt make it clear to you.
oh well you still have two as frosties :goodluck: lots of baby dust to every one
5 days to go zzzz am bored and worried.

PGS

Hi

I am currently going through another cycle with CARE Manchester with PGS testing!

The plan is for us to get the embryos to day 5 and then have them biopsied at blast stage and then frozen for use in a subsequent cycle! Dr Sedler thought it would be better for me to have a FET cycle rather than fresh as i get so many eggs and my body isn't in a good enough state to accept the embryos in a fresh cycle.

I had EC on Saturday 4th August and got 27 eggs!!! needless to say i am still in quite a lot of pain and cruelly swollen up like i am 9 months gone :( Much better today than yesterday though!

We injected half with DH sperm and the other half with donor sperm. Yesterday the rang to say that 3 of DH's had fertilized and 10 of the donors had! So we have 13 embryo's on the go! we have lost a lot, but they did inject 6 eggs with DH's immotile sperm so i didn't really expect those ones to fert anyway! Turns out it was the few motile ones they found that have fertilised!

I am a nervous wreck! they rang this morning to say that all 13 had divided and they are as follows:

DH's:

1 x 2 cell-grade 2
2 x 3 cell-grade 2

Donor:

2 x 2 cell
4 x 4 cell
3 x 5 cell
2 x 6 cell
These all range from grade 1 to grade 3

I am nervous that DH's ones seem to be a little behind but the embryologist said they are all where they should be at this point and she didn't have any concerns about them at this stage! They didn't get injected until about 8pm on Sunday night, so when they were checked this morning they hadn't had the full 48hrs to develop, thats what i keep telling myself anyway!

They have booked me in for transfer tomorrow 'just in case' they don't think they will make it to day 5 biopsy! I am really scared that this will be the case i also have immune issues and haven't had any of my immune drugs this cycle because the plan was to freeze!!! It will be a complete waste to put any embryo's back tomorrow as my body is literally a baby killing machine!!!

I am really preying that with 13 embie son the go we will make it to day 5 and get the biopsied!! :whistling: :?:

Any experiences off embies at this kind of grade making it to day 5 biopsies much appreciated!

Chatterbox-when my protocol came it was all wrong too!! Feeling quite nervous about CARE at the moment, never seen so many new staff!!! it's very unsettling!
