My DP and myself are also using the MFS in september when we have our first ivf cycle. We live in Newcastle, Staffs and although our NHS funded are been treated at the MFS. Let me know how you get on please

My friend has had some tx at MFS and although it was for a different thing she rates the hospital very highly and has received some wonderful tx.

Can anyone offer any advice on MFS to newbie Hope? xx

I had my treatment at MFS and have had 1 bad experience after another.. Not just 1, Even to the extream of them giving me the wrong dose of medication.

I wouldn't recommend it after my bad experiences, But they do have their own forum and lots of ladies there have had great experiences. So maybe it was just me.

I also did not like how I hardly ever got to see my names nurse and every scan I had was always with someone different I have had a scan with EVERY nurse that works there.

I wish you luck with finding a nice clinic.... We will be looking for another should my current cycle fail.

Hi B.of.B I had two treatment at MFS and I am lucky to say our second attempt worked and we have our little geourgeous girl but I hated the whole experience with them and we will also use another clinic for our next tx they were rude and the we had the same experience as watn1 and with no after care we told them when Keira was born twice and no body even contacted us back other people may have a different opinion and sorry if you are upset by this but we were really upset by this.

Hi - we're being treated at MFS for our first IVF cycle (NHS). So far they have been lovely, and I've heard no private alarm bells ringing - I have PCOS and we have been TTC for over 2 years and I've done lots of research so am pretty well informed and they have said all the right things so far!

We're being treated by Dr Karolina Rudska, who is lovely.

I do know of someone on another forum though, who is being treated at MFS and they forgot to label her bloods so she had to come back and have them done again - it was a long trip for her and she was not best pleased!

I'll keep you updated with our progress - and would love to hear more people's stories of their treatment at MFS.

hi there my partner stored his sperm there when he was told that he had very low count in his early 20s. he lived in walsall at the time. he moved to burton when he met me and we are uisng BCRM in burton but needed his straws from MFC so we have had dealings with them. from what i have read they gave 35% success rate of couples completing cycle and concieving .their reception area celebrates their achievement. my other half was happy with them and did intially want to use them again for the treatment but having met Mr A at BCRM and the staff there we stuck stuck with south staffs. not a lot of help but hopefully we i have offerred you some reassurance

We will be having our tx at this clinic, just had all the initial tests and waiting for our follow up apt for all the results. Not sure when we'll be starting yet as we will go on the waiting list. We have been 3 times so far. My first impressions are good, the waiting area is people friendly with a lovely fish tank (nice & relaxing!) loads of magazines and you can make your own drinks, tea, coffee, squash etc. They have 3 big boards (about 5 ft) full of pics of babies and happy parents, and lots of news stories which is encouraging! The staff have all been great so far - the nurse who did my first (scary) transvaginal scan put me at ease straight away, I have no complaints, the only thing I didn't like was how long we had to wait on our first apt, about 20 mins after the apt time and we'd got there about 15 mins early - not good when I was so nervous.

We have been to MFS clinic on two occasions just for follow up chats after our bloods and sperm tests.
I found the staff really friendly and they were all very happy and made us feel comfortable and welcome.
We have been on the waiting list for NHS egg donor tx for almot 3years.
We finally got a call in may saying we were next on the list and could go for an appointment in the next 4-6 weeks.This appointment still hasnt been arranged due to late bloods being done on the donor to check for all required checks they do.Im patiently waiting for the call and have rang them with some questions since.My cons was very helpfull and happy to answer what she could.
Just wish something was happening now its been 13weeks.

I am having my TX there, I only have nice things to say about them, all the staff I have come in conbtact with have been warm and friendly.

I notice your profile says you conceived triplets.Did they do a 3embryo tranfer for you.

I am on day 5 of my stims.
Despite what I have read, I have nothing but good things to say about MFS. The staff are very friendly, even the receptionists.

This is my first time, so I have been a little nervous, and phoning them a lot about stupid things. They have gone out of there way to help and reassure me.

You don't always get to see the same nurse every time, but there all nice anyway.

Natashia- I conceived my triplets from two day 3 Embies, one split. That was at Care Northampton.

Having my surroagcy TX at MFS, having 1 or 2 blasts or embies transferred next week. Depending on how things go.

My gorgeous son Jack is now 3 weeks old. We had our treatment at MFS and they were great. Yes it's true you don't always get the same nurse, but it doesn't mater as they are all really nice.
They were always there on the end the end of the phone to answer even the stupidest question.

We're still having treatment at MFS. Had one fresh IVF cycle followed by two frozen transfers last year, all unsuccessful. This time we got our BFP from a fresh cycle but I developed secondary OHSS caused by the pregnancy hormones rising. The clinic have been great throughout our treatment but in particular we really can't fault the way they have cared for me with the OHSS - our consultant saw us each day and then when symptoms worsened she referred us to hospital to stay over the weekend. She then rang the consultant to follow up on the referral, and rang me on the Saturday morning to check how I was, and I am confident that if my symptoms worsen they will take it seriously and look after me.

We have nothing but good things to say so far!

Ive been encouraged by the nice comments written about the MFC. My DH and I have reciently been referred to MFC after a year of investigations in London under a Specialist Andrologist . Me, now 28 and DH 37 TCN for 2.5 yrs, however every month bitterly disapointed when my period came, we knew there was an issue. My DH had a opperation to lower his testicles at the last age of 8 yrs after going undetected throughout his childhood, the school nurse of all people spotted it ! Likewise DH's younger brother also had the same problem as a child, there 1st child was born a year ago after having fertility treatment in coventy! There is hope still !! My DH has been told he has azoozpermia and a high FSH, naturally gutted we have opted for the TESE procedure and waiting for MFC to see if we can have funding for this at there clinic under the NHS. . . Still Waiting a week later for a phone call from MFC Manager !! Naturally like everyone else are mega apprehensive at present and eager to hear stories from other couples undergoing or about to enbark on TX at MFC.......

So far our meedings / my transvaginal scans and blood tests have all been delt with in a professional way . Alll nursing staff lovely, still waiting to see the Doc there !

My husband and i have received treatment at MFS. We had ICSI in August 2010 we had two FET'S in 2011 both resulting in BFP but sadly we miscarried both times. We are due to start treatment again in August of this year! Fingers crossed!! All the staff i find very welcoming and i cant thank them enough for all their support and help through out the whole treatment. I don't find it scary going for appointments its a very lovely warm atmosphere. I cant fault a single thing. So happy with everything there. Our first cycle was NHS funded we are now going private for treatment and there is no difference in care at all. When i was in hospital with severe OHSS the doctors would call and check on me also after my two miscarriages while in hospital both times my doctor was in constant contact.

Any questions or advise anything at all i will try and help as much as i can.
