Would botox in the face only, affect IVF - I'm on the cycle and EC is next weekend.

What do you think? Would it make any difference - it is only light botox in the face only, if it was at the time of egg collection and transfer or just after egg transfer. Would it affect anything?

LET ME KNOW YOUR ADVISE>

Thank you.

I would ask the IVF clinic. Personally I wouldn't do it, especially when TTC.

As far as I am aware treatments such as botox are not recommended in anyone who is pregnant, trying to conceive or is breast feeding. I would be very suprised if a reputable clinic agreed to give you botox if you told them you were in the middle of an IVF cycle.

ttc since July 06. 8 cycles of clomid. BFP on cycle 5 (Dec 07) ended in m/c at 9.5 weeks. Second BFP on cycle 8 (May 08)

I agree with the above replies. I provide botox treatments and would never treat anyone who is TTC. It is a neurotoxin that is injected and there is no research (for obvious reasons) as to what the effects may be on the developing foetus or even the egg.
Just wait a few months... It will be worth it!

Yes you are right, thanks girls - the wrinkles will be worth it!! :-)

Can I ask as it's my first IVF treatment in a few days, what does the day involve?? I go for my scan tomorrow to check the follicles, as I'm on 300ml injection of Gonal F - will they be big?

Thanks Pik x

Hi Pik, it sounds like you are having your first follicle scan, where they count how many follicles you have and they measure their size. They may also take bloods. Why don't you check the IVF section:
