Update - Postive ?????

Hello everyone.

I thought I would write an update for you all.

Jo and I endured the dreaded 2ww (it was actually about 2 1/2ww).

How we endured it I do not know, we were bitching at each other and we were also having a new driveway put down which was an absolute nightmare job due to some incompetent builders. Our stress levels were really high.

Anyway, we were told to test around day 17 (Friday) which we did, Jo did the test and put it in front of me in the wrapper. Jo carried on getting ready for work, thinking that I would look at the results, I had just finished a 12 hour night shift, was totally shattered and thought that she was going to check the results. Well somehow we both forgot and didn't check until after about 5-6 minutes. The result: a faint line, not really faint, I mean you knew there was a definate blue line there.

Whoo hoo we thought but then got worried that we had left it too long, didn't do it properly etc etc. So we decided that we should do another test at some stage over the weekend. During the day, Jo called the hospital to ask for some advice, they told her to do another test, but also that the Ovitrelle could affect the PG test, so Jo should test again on Wednesday this week and if it is still positive then they will arrange for a blood test to confirm.

Jo decided that she wanted to know one way or the other so did another test later on Friday and this time we had a definate blue line (very blue and very much a line).

So here we are, it is Monday and we are going to do another test on Wednesday, if this is positive then it looks as though I will have to add our names to the BFP register.

Wow!

Congrats to both of you!

I would be certain that the line is there for a pregnancy now.. nothing to do with the Ovritrell (it's out of her system by now) !

Thanks for the kind replies, really appreciated.

I think that it is a bfp, but Jo is worried that it is just the drugs as the hospital really put it in her head that it could be. I must say it seems so surreal as I really didn't expect good news. I suppose like everyone else on this site, you gear yourself up for bad news.

Well we will know for sure (hopefully) tomorrow and you can be sure you guys will be among the 1st to know.

Fingers crossed........

I presume she took the ovritrelle trigger shot on the 2nd October ?

Has she been injecting further pregnyl injections in the 2ww to support any pregnancy?

That is correct, trigger shot on 2nd October.

Jo hasn't had any further pegnyl injections in the 2ww.

She should be able to rest easy then! It can't be the Ovritrelle in her system still by this date

When you rang the clinic, did they book a scan for you yet? Hopefully they'll book you a 6 week one

I think the clinic said that they will book the 6 week scan when we know the results tomorrow.

I may run around a bit when I go to lunch in an hour. Hopefully it may clear my system a bit. I have been given the job of buying a PG test kit for tomorrow :D.

Jo does work, she is staying cool at the moment (on the outside), but she will be very nervous and probably boiling over on the inside.

We expect a kick in the teeth by lady (bad)luck at any moment.

If you can, try the Clearblue digital tests. They are pretty much the best tests.. very clear.

Poor Jo, I do sympathise with her, you just want to fast forward 3 months down the line [zx127]

Jo tested this morning using a Clearblue digital, she couldn't check it herself so left it for me. My heart was hammering in my chest with nerves and the little screen said................. PREGNANT.

Well it is official we have a [zx249]

I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am, I am also so proud of Jo, she put up with so much (as you ladies all have to) and she really deserves to be a Mum (wow that sounds weird). I am going to be a Dad (that sounds even weirder).

Not a chance Gayle, this child will be a Gooner all the way.

Jo should get a nice surprise when she arrives home from work today as I bought her a big bouquet of flowers in my lunch break and put them in the kitchen at home. Didn't say anything before as she may have been on site at some stage today, she finishes work at 4.30pm so it is safe now.

Yes she did.

They were really cool, lots of bright colours, orange, green & yellow. I really like the florist that I bought them from, they do nice arrangements. I do buy Jo flowers quite often to be honest, just something I have always done - And not always when I have done something wrong, LOL.

Wow, I must sound like a right wuss.... I bet you are all picturing the bloke from the Mr Muscle advert.
