Short protocol - how long did you stimm for?

Hi Ladies,

A question for anyone who has done short protocol - How long did you stimm for? I did long protocol last time and was ready for e/c on day 10. I know i am doing a softly softly approach this time starting on a lower dose and increasing as necessary. Any idea how long it could take?

Hi Hun,

I did the short protocol & stimmed for 18 days, your clinic will keep a good eye on your follies and decide what timings are best for you

Best of luck!

Hi Hun
Similar to you I got ohss on my first icsi this time doing short protocol I got the impression stimms would be 14-18 days. I know it's not really much help but guess they cant really say until they see he our bodies are reacting to the meds

Im really confused now lol. :snigger: but its worrying not knowing whats going on . they said my protocol will come a day or two after my next period. confused .com

hi lilla

this is my 1st time on short protocol and i didnt expect it to be too much different from the 3 long protocols i have done.
how wrong i was!

i started stimms on the wednesday and had my 1st scan the following wednesday (day 8 of stimms) and my clinic deemed me ready!! i was not a happy chappie as i have always produced lots of immature eggs and had an agreement to be left longer (this has NEVER happened)
i was so shocked at being ready on day 8 i hadnt accounted for EC so early and was devastated, not to mention having to mess my work shifts around. the clinic did not allow me to be delayed and i was preparing to be told i had many immature eggs again and getting my complaint ready.
imagine my suprise when i got 8 eggs and just 2 were immature! only 2 made it to day 3 transfer but im ever hopeful they are fighters

i think my body is still in shock as i am a late ovulater and never OV before cycle day 17/18 normally! so to be whipped in and all the follies drained on CD10 was a shockerooney for me!

goes to show you can never really plan a cycle!

good luck with your cycle and i hope all goes to plan for you
xXx

On a short protocol I stimmed for 11 or 12 days started cetrotide on day 6 I think it was.
On my first icsi which was long protocol I think I stimmed for 15-16 days even though I'd over stimmed by day 6 and ended up with ohss!!
The biggest thing that got me was how quickly it all happened, it's like ahh within 2wks of starting I was in for ec!! Rather than DRing for what seemed forever then stimms. All seemed crazy but xfingers well worth it!!!
