Still spotting at nearly 10 weeks

Just wondered whether anyone has experienced anything similar to me - I had an elective c-section nearly 10 weeks ago & seemed to have the normal bleeding however, for several weeks now I have been spotting on & off (like the tail-end of a period) & just as I think it's finished, it starts up again. I've been to the GP & don't have an infection & have been told that it's unlikely I still have any remnants from the birth. I'm just really fed up with it now & would like everything to go back to normal & am now thinking about asking for a scan. I am exclusively breast-feeding if that makes any difference.

Hi there Blue Sky, and congrats on the arrival of your little girl.

I didn't have a c. section but I did bleed for 10 weeks + and the last few weeks were very much as you describe. I was getting pretty fed up with it too and came on here to post as you have done, but found a thread where someone bleed for 13 weeks which made me feel a bit better. All the books / websites etc say 4-6 weeks so you do think maybe there's something wrong but there are several ladies on FZ who bled for a lot longer - I think we are just the unlucky ones!

I'm pretty sure yours will stop in the next few days/weeks but of course if you continue to feel worried about it then go and see your GP again. Better to get checked out again than leave it and worry.

PS: I breastfed too. I don't know whether that has any bearing on it; I don't think it does.
