New IVF unit at Seacroft Hospital Leeds

Has anyone been to the new unit at Seacroft Hospital Yet. I am due my scna next week and I just wondered what it was like.

Im up there next Monday for a donor counselling session!! I am using a sat nav to find it as ive been going to LGI which is just so easy going in on the train!! I will let you know what its like!! xxx

Sorry I didnt realise anyone had replied. I have bee 3 times now and it is lovely, all sparkly and new. I had my et on Wed and its all very posh. If you know where Seacroft hospital is its easy to find the unit.Park in the first caroark on the right as you go in because there are always spaces. You have to follow the signs for Leeds Reproductive Medicine.Its a bit of a walk!
I am a JImmy's girl and so far have seen Jimmy's nurses but my et was done by a very nice LGI dr called Chris who was really nice and explained everything in great detail( even though this is my 4th go) and he was really positive which made me really relaxed about it all.
Hope you all have a good experience and let me know how you get on. maybe we could keep this thread going. lurve

Emz how did you get on at Seacroft? Was it today you were due to go?

I went last Monday & didnt really know where we were allowed to park & it was very busy so we parked in a lay by round the back?!

It was so busy in the clinic aswell, lots of :cross:

people getting annoyed at the waiting times to see the nurses.

I dont know when i will be back there but next time i dread the parking situation! :thumbdown:

We've been to Seacroft today. This was my 2nd visit and the parking was a nightmare!! On my first visit my appt was at 4:45pm and I got parked straight away and thought wow...much better than Jimmys....how wrong was I!!! Apparently you can park round the back, but you need to get your ticket from the pay & display at the front of the hospital. Hoping parking isn't too bad when I go back for my scans! Unit is tonnes better than Jimmys

Yeah we were there on 15th it was mental in the reception that day too, but no one was complaining.

we managed to park round the back but we didnt pay. thumbup

Was impressed with new clinic but we were also there a good few hours but hey ho we do what we gotta do ey? we back again 5th April and 13th. i was surprised they open bank hols but i suppose it doesnt all stop just coz its a holiday.

seacroft

Hi I have just been through my icsi treatment at seacroft and found everyone really nice.Just a couple of things the waiting time i have waited over a hour and a half to be seen and when you try and ring the centre for advice etc no one answers.
but over all very good I am week 6 of my icsi treatment and all well so far a hearbeat was heard so i am so happy but having awful dizzy spells and nausea but its worth it.
anyway one else around the same stage or would like to speak would be gret to hear from you

i used to live not too far from seacroft hospital, it was over 3 years ago though so things may of changed. if you have problems parking then use the asda / walmart car park on the other side of york road A64. Parking has always been a problem there. Alternatively there is parking inside but you need to drive around abit to find it. Try not to park on the edges near the valley which is right inside the grounds and has a biggish carpark as cars can have problems.

Thought I would bring this thread up again to see how people are getting on who are using Seacroft.

I've just had my first iui here and am just waiting for AF to arrive or for a BFP.

I have been seen alot by the nurses for tracking scans etc and they seem so lovely and make you feel really comfortable. I havent had much luck with trying to contact them via telephone. You can hear it ringing in recpetion and no one blinks or bats an eyelid at answering it!! The last time we went I even noticed that they have either silenced the phone ringers or moved the phones from the waiting area vicinity. I bet loads of people have complained!

Ive just had my first cycle with them and im PUPO, the nurses are really good. my egg coodinator was Nichola Sugden. i hve noticed the phone rings for 5 mins before they answer tho. :cross:

I had Nicola too for my first donor iui 12 days ago! She was lovely! Wish you lots of luck & love in your 2ww.
I will be testing sunday am if i havent seen AF by then! x
