Was wondering if anybody had anybody has any info on this or experience of it.

We have been ttc for a while now and my df got tested and has a very low count. He also has a condition which he is on antibiotics for called epidiymitus (if thats how its spelt :) ).

His doctor has told him his count is unlikely to increase all that much after he has finished his antibiotics but was wondering if anybody has more info on this.

Hi hun

Don't have any personal experience of it but epididymitis is inflammation of the epididymis - where sperm matures and is stored. It can be caused by infection by bacteria which heads up the urethra or from inflammation of the urethra (from reflux of urine). It rarely has an effect on fertility, which is probably why your doc doesn't expect levels to rise following antibiotics.

Don't know much else about it sorry! Do you have any symptoms of any kind - as bacterial infection can be passed on.

Thanks for your reply.

I know thats what we are thinking as the doc has said this too!

DF hasnt been complaining too much with the pain he said its just an ache really!

I sent his back to the docs again this morning and it hasnt cleared up so he has another two weeks of antibiotics to take :-(

We have been referred and our first appt is tomorrow so fingers crossed we get our journey moving forward.

Thanks again chetterbox

I had it a few years back. I ended up in hospital and off work for weeks - a quite serious and exceedingly painful case.... poor right testicle was the size of a watermelon. But it didn't affect my fertility :)
