I am new to temping and i have had a steady 36.0 c for 4 days and temped this morning and it was 36.5c i am on day 10 of cycle and wondering wether this rise in temp means i am gonna ovulate soon

Clue's anyone ?

Hiya

An ovulatory rise in temperature would usually be by at least one degree. I usually have temps between 35.5 - 36.3 but after ovulation they rise to 37.5 (and sometimes a little higher) your temperature will naturally fluctuate a little throughout your pre-ovulator phase. The only way to tell if this indicates ovulation has occured (temps don't rise pre ovulation only after it has occured) is to continue to temp and see if your temperatures stay raised.

Temping on it's own doesn't predict ovulation it tells you when it is likely to have occured and will allow you to see a pattern building in your cycles. If you want to try to predict ovulation you would need to chart other signs such as cervix height and CM in conjunction with temping.

I agree with Grace, your temperature will fluctuate before you ovulate so a small fluctuation of half a degree doesn't mean anything. Your temperature doesn't slowly increase like the lines you get on an OPK, most people get a sharp rise of a degree after ovulation. The best way to guess when you are going to ovulate is by also looking at other signs your body gives such as CM and cervix hight.

Hi Hon,

Can't see your chart i'm afraid but we wouldn't really be able to tell you anything on day 11 anyway you need to see the whole month to really make sense of it. Wait until your next AF and then review your chart to see when you were likely to have ovulated, over a couple of months (if you have regular cycles) you should see a pattern developing. Don't worry though if you have the odd cycle where you don't ovulate, the odd annovulator cycle is normal.

Sorry hun, I fixed it now if you wanted to look yep i agree with this being my 1st cycle temping its best to wait till i have a few to compare. My cervix was really high hard to reach yesterday and still the same today, My temp went to 36.5 on sat then was 36.2 yesterday and 36.1 today. With my cervix being really high and hard to reach dont they class this as a show, to ovulation happing soon ?

My cycles have been 28 but last mth was 32

Hi,

Yes approaching ovulation your cervix should become higher, softer and open (can be quite difficult to feel it open). You may also notice your CM changing consistency from lotion like to like egg white, as soon as you see egg white start going at it like bunnies as this is the stuff sperm needs to survive the trip through your cervix.

Your temp usually rises after ovulation...are you plotting it on 'fertilityfriend.com'?? That does all the work for you and then you can see patterns too!

I could not resist the me 2 you bear with the lucky clover he had to stay, it is quite big isnt it :innocent:

I got a almost postiive on my opk today, and my temp is rising again it was 36.3 today after a steady 36.2 for a few days :happy:

got the dreded 2ww still to come.Lets hope its a fast one and not a slow one.

Any one help us out on this BBT

So i started af on 18th april i have a 30 day cycle i started opks on the 26th of april CD9 bfn - CD10 bfn - CD 11 Getting there - CD 12- Getting there CD13 Almost positive-

CD14 -Almost positive - CD15 BFP positive opk - CD 16 - BFP postitive opk - CD17- NEG - CD 18 NEG opk - So this is where i am getting confused - i felt ovary pain from BOTH ovarys today and had a few cramps - WAY to early for implantation - Started Asprin and steriods and cycolgest yesterday! Cervix check - mid way SOFT - OPEN <<<<< with creamy white cm how can my cervix be open when i am testing neg for a opk and had my bfp opk on cd 15 and cd16 - i have NOT been doing my BBT but on the 23rd april nurse took my temp before doing my infusion and it was 36.5 i tested my temp this morning and it was 37.C does this mean i ovulated ? Am soo confused that i jumped on dh before Again rotf

- I just dont know whats going on with my cervix being open but my cm being white.

Is a 37c BBT high or not ? Sorry if sound Thick! but am not great at temping!

37 c is a good temp for me post ovulation but it depends on how hot you run, iykwim? I would discount the nurses temp because that wasn't taken first thing as soon as you woke up. As you know you really need to see all your temps to get a good picture of what's going on.

Are all your other bodily signs telling you you've ovulated? Ovulation type pain could be the corpus luteum but I'm unsure of what an open cervix means as I gave up checking mine because it aggravated my endo.

i have temp before in the past and during af its been round 34 then about 36 - because i have not been temping its hard like you said but you consider a 37c high after ovulation - this what i wanted to know .. thanks hun - i did a temp yesterday but it was afternoon and it was 36.8 .. its the pain from both ovarys today - that got me wondering if i had ovulated or not - cervix open means most fertile - cervix closed means fertile time over - mine felt open today but i had white cm which is not fertile mucas.

But mounted dh anway just be sure :snigger:

and all the spermies went :8o:

my cervix is soft as well which should be around ovulation - i started progesterone cyclogest yesterday and am wondering if i didnt ovulate the other day and did today

and the progeserone i am taking has confused my body and producing the white cm when i am still in my fertile time - But i am getting a neg opk now as well .. which is why this is so confusing .. only time will tell a suppose - thanks for your post honey! [zx127]
