Best Clinic for 37 year old (IUI) in the Midlands or surrounding counties

Hello,

This is my first posting and I am very new to all of this so apologies for my ignorance! My doctor has recommended IUI and I have had tests and a consultation at the Burton Centre for Reproductive medicine. I have been trying to do some research to find out if this is the besct clinic for me given my age, but to be honest its all left my head spinning!! Can anyone recommend a good clinic for someone of my age group please? I don't mind if I have to travel providing I am getting the best available chance.
Thanks

I am at St Judes Womens Hopsital in Wolverhampton and they are brilliant. A close, friendly team who I would really recommend. The consultant Dr Adgehe is very warm and generally cares. I am younger but I'm currently going through IUI (second cycle). If it is not too far its very good. Hope that helps.

NURTURE

I don't know how local it is to you, but I've heard wonderful things about NURTURE in Nottingham. They have excellent success rates. Unfortunately it was a bit far for us to travel but I've heard nothing but good stuff about them.

The latest figures released show that their live birth rate is the highest in the Midlands. It's considered one of the best clinics outside London.

Hello Pradagirl!

I am also with St Judes in Wolverhampton, although we haven't started tx yet we have met the team and they were all very nice.

My cousin has just had her first cycle there, she was at MFS in Aldridge but the PCT contract transferred to St Judes and she only has good things to say about them, she says they treat you like friends and hug you and stuff, the place doesn't seem as clinical, she says her tx has been great , they seem to know what they are doing more than they did at MFS, she had a fresh cycle and an FET over there, and with both they made her very ill, her first down reg was for 3 months!!!! She had PCOS and the scans would appear that her ovaries were active but they weren't, thats what PCOS does, she ended up in hospital with OHSS, the following FET a yr later also made her quite ill. Dr Adeghe is lovely and is very relaxed and also has a great sense of humour

I feel much better now as we hope to be starting tx very soon!

Hey Pradagirl,

Firstly I would like to wish you luck with your forthcoming tx.

We went to NURTURE in Notts, we are not local (Stoke-On-Trent) but all the figures were very impressive and as we were self funded we wanted to give ourselves the best possible chance. We deffinately chose the right clinic, they were friendly, professional, extremely efficient and above all, gave us the ultimate result :)

Whichever clinic you chose, I am sure they will do their best to give you your BFP
