Thanks Kat, no we did look at getting Winnie the Pooh furniture but it was so much more expensive compared to a normal nursery set. Ours is from Kiddicare & its from the babystyle range in helsinki. I like it as its modern & aint too baby like so can grow with little one, boy or girl. Liked the fact it is a full size wardrobe as well as many sets just have the little ones.

personally I would go with a neutral hard-wearing carpet as you are more likely to be changing the colour of the walls at some point from lemon.
can always get a lovely rug to put on the floor to add a bit of interest!

We have a yellow nursery and a dark cream carpet which works pretty well. I made the room fairly neutral so that I can bring colour in with the cot and mobiles etc.

We knew our baby was a girl before but had cream walls and beige carpet but then I bought the 'I love my bear' range from Toys R Us which I'd always liked but its cream with turquoise and the problem now is that I want to add some pink things but it doesn't look right (people have bought pink things such as a big photo frame and secretly I want to go and buy all new things now but I don't think DH will let me!!)

I've just done ours and I've got beige/magnolia walls but with bright stickers on them and a cream neutral carpet.

I love the 'I love my bear' range!!! DH made me go for the Henley cotbed though.

We redecorated ours in plain old white so as we could decide what to do when they arrived and we knew the sexes. It already had a blue carpet that I wanted to rip up but luckily we hung on and left it . . .good job too as we had 2 boys! Once they a few months old and we knew their personalities we went for a pirate theme and so have accessorised with bunting round the top of the room, pirate wall stickers, lampshade, curtains, treasure chest etc I think it's pretty funky!

I agree it's good to get it done early on cos like Michelle, I was on a ladder painting at 34 + weeks - madness!!!
