Men and Meds to help with sperm

?(
Got a question for everyone got men taking meds to help improve sperm more. My DH seen a specialist Friday Oct 30th about his sperm problems an the specialist has taken 2 or 3 tubes of blood from him alone with urine testing. They are checking him for cancer an other things but the specialist said he has plenty of sperm the movement of the sperm is slow and at times the count goes down but my DH is a big guy an his weight maybe part of the problem due to keeping the ba**s a little to hot but he wanted to do bw to check everything out too. The specialist said we will know more in 2 to 3 weeks about his results but he said that he may try my DH on some meds to help.

What kind of meds will they put him on?

My poor DH got really sick after the bw due to not eatting for over 24hrs. I'm really scared due to cancer runs in his family. The specialist said he going to helps us get another baby somehow just have to a few things at a time. Praying that all the bw comes back without any cancer in it.

RE: Men and Meds to help with sperm

Hi, from me,

I am surprised that his medic is talking about cancer as this seems relatively irrelevant for the vast majority of men with sperm problems. In any event it is rare to be able to diagnose cancer simply from a blood sample, other than prostatic cancer of course, and this is not normally associated with a sperm problem.

It is also very early to be talking about medication, before achieving a diagnosis. For most men with a good high sperm count, even with a low motility, there are few reliable, formal medical treatments that will improve this situation. It is more a case of ensuring that his partner is sufficiently fertile that she is not adding in to the situation, and making more or better use of the sperm that are there.

So until there are some results available it is difficult to envisage or talk about a diagnosis or treatment.

But please keep in touch and try to get copies of the results so that we can discuss them fully.

Good luck,

Paul Entwistle

The specialist is doing all types of bw to check lots of stuff. I don't know what all for but they are also checking for cancer as it runs in my husband family. My Dh dad years ago had postate cancer years ago so guess that is why the specialist is checking that. We've tried IUI's an all have failed but some due to a RE wasn't doing his job correct and the new RE that done a IUI wasn't to happy with my DH sperm movement which was like 40% I think it was. Before wash the sperm count was 12million but the movement wasn't good. So the RE said no more IUI's until find out what is going on with my Dh sperm. My Dh sperm count has been low and the shapes are normal just the movement is gone down. Everything with me is good so far not problems of what has been said. So it is all stuck on my poor DH.

The specialist said do the bw/urine test then go from there but he starting to think most of the problem is due to my DH weigh since he weighs over 300Lbs an that is why the sperm count is some low long at times with the movement slow. Me and Dh is trying to figure out how to improve his sperm count by maybe start using a cool washcloth to help. Not sure if will be hope soemthing will. My Dh has always been big but now since he got hurt his weighs a little more than use to. He is taking vitemans to help his count too.

Thanks Paul will check back later..to let you know what is going on. Will be going to specialist in 2 weeks to see what the results. He did feel around and didn't find anything so that's a plus.
