My daughter hates me

Oh Jannie, I just felt I had to post here. You sounded so sad in your first post so I am glad the advice you have been given here has made you feel better. Please don't feel like you aren't worthy of your children, you most certainly are. I am sat typing this with a split lip where my LO had a strop getting out of the bath & I ended up with him headbutting my lip & my tooth went through. In his defence it was inadvertent this time but he has been known to smack me & scream at me when for others ...

On my own and dont know what to do

Hi, please don't feel alone. It must be difficult for both you and your husband and I can understand why he might find it hard to talk about his ED. There must be so much pressure on him to make things right & pressure is the last thing he needs. And for you, you have all these emotions going on and also medical problems yourself. It is difficult to keep on going and keep communicating. Sometimes it feels easier to ignore a problem than it seems it will be to solve it. As for the age gap. My hus...

Considering a holiday abroad with a 8 month old

Hi only just seen this, I was going to suggest that some First Choice holidays offer a baby pack in resort but then realised you mentioned this isn't available at your! All the advice everyone has given is great. I would just say that at Manchester airport you can ring Boots the chemist (airside) and pre-order your baby supplies such as formula. This means that although you then have to carry it onto the plane, you haven't had to have the weight of it included into your luggage allowa...

Havent gained any weight in the last 2 weeks

Have you seen your midwife recently. If so I am sure they would have said if your bump was too small. If you are worried I would ring them for a chat & I am sure they will see you straight away. It might just be that you are burning more calories now than you are eating, especially as you are getting closer to the end of your pregnancy. Have you felt your LO moving as normal?

Hey I'm back for another try........Kittenlove

Such great news and like you say, every pregnancy is different so try to enjoy this why you can. Worrying isn't going to change the outcome but I know you won't be able to stop yourself. I have everything crossed for you xx

Menstral Blood Chlamydia - Get it done I am shocked

Well at least they have found it now & got you on the right meds to see the back of it. I take it that your DH is on the medication as well to eliminate the risk of him carrying it too rather than them knowing he has it? Its amazing what all these test show as you go through the process. Just think, if it wasn't for your infertility journey you would never have known about this and might have become seriously ill some years later xx

Worrying what people may think

Don't get yourself upset about your thoughts, they are completely normal. Being a new mum is really full on and especially now your hormones are changing and exaggerating the smallest thing. Its normal to feel anxious and it can be about all sort of things, what worries you might not worry another mother but vice versa about something else. I think that the horror stories you will have seen in the press over the years about children being taken into care from their parents incorrectly has probab...

Lining Will Not Thicken!!!

Hiya, sorry I don't know much about this issue but didn't want to read and run. The only other suggestion I have is to perhaps try Red Raspberry Leaf Tea as I believe this helps to thicken the lining too. It might take several weeks to work so might not help immediately but could be worth a try. However it is only safe to use upto the ET as should be avoided in early pregnancy (although many women drink it towards the end). So sorry this is happening and sorry I can't offer more practical help x...

Success naturally after our first Child was through ICSI

This is brilliant news. The exact same thing has happened to one of my friends. They tried from 2004 to have a baby, eventually conceived in 2010 with 2nd cycle of ICSI (1st cycle there was zero fertilisation). They have a 17 month old little girl now and she is expecting her second baby who they conceived naturally. Mother Nature has a very strange way of working but the surprise is brilliant xx

back to work FT

Hi, just saw this post and thought I would add my experiences. My LO is nearly two and I took a year off on maternity leave when he was born. I worked for a local council and was very lucky that they allowed me to return 3 days a week & when weighing up childcare I decided to send my DS to a childminder rather than nursery. It is significantly cheaper, I pay £20 per day and she is brilliant. Also she lives at the end of my road so I can walk DS there in the morning and when I get home. She has a...

recomend a private fertility clinic in manchester

Hi Lauren I was under the care of St Mary's on the NHS for my IVF and I did find them frustrating at times, especially getting them to answer the phone although I did always feel that they had my best interests at heart & I was seen relatively quickly. I happened to then be referred to CARE, Manchester on the NHS for the actual treatment so just had the tests done at St Mary's. CARE are a very reputable private clinic. It was because St Mary's were undergoing building work and had to close so I ...

Pregnant and didnt know it and now worried

Hi Frankie Try not to worry honey, this is fantastic news!! You can't change the past so just look to the future. Start your folic acid now....have you been eating cereal and green veg at all as lots of those contain folic acid, I believe. This seems to be one of those meant to be pregnancies, so just embrace it and run with it. You are so lucky there is no point spoiling it now worrying, I am sure everything will be absolutely fine.

upsetting day today

Some people are so insensitive...try not to let him upset you. You have achieved a massive amount with losing the weight you have, keep it up and you will get there. Next time I would have a rather tart thing to reply, perhaps...."well at least I can change my weight, you can't change your face"! I bet that would hurt his feelings and he might get the message....childish I know but it might make you feel better even if it doesn't improve relations xx

bedtime nappies?

During the day I use a mixture of Pamper Active Fit or baby dry but I absolutely swear by Pampers Baby Dry at night and have never had any problems unless he has really need to go up a size. Daniel is now in size 5 nappies and they feel lovely & roomy for him but never leak. Hope this helps x

Anyone else paranoid about a laboratory mix up??!!

I think your concerns are completely normal, I know DH & I had the same conversation when I was pregnant but it is so true that once baby arrives it really won't be in your thoughts. You will be smitten, head over heals in love and you will bond with your baby, I am sure you will. Don't let this niggle spoil things for you. I think that because our babies weren't conceived in the normal way, & we have had to put our faith in another human being doing the right thing with our precious egg & sperm...

at my wits end with potty training

I haven't got any tried and tested advice I am afraid as I am not at this point yet with my DS but didn't want to read and run. I do hope someone comes along soon who might have a bit of helpful advice for you. I can totally see why you are at your wits end though. Could you perhaps plan a really special trip somewhere and promise her she can go if she has a whole week of being dry, probably a bit ambitious really but is the only thing I can suggest xx

is it normal to miss the rollercoaster?

You are normal honey, some people are desperate to become mummies for the first time, others are desperate for siblings for the child they have had. There is no wrong or right and you are not selfish for wanting another child. I know for sure that I am not going to have anymore, just the one baby for me (I am super lucky I know) but I feel very sad that Daniel will be an only child in a small family consisting of old adults. I worry that we will all die and leave him alone and long for him to ha...

Worried? Injected a bubble...

Well you are still here so I guess that you will live...ha..ha! Like the others have said I think the concern about bubbles within the injection relate to if you are injecting into a vein. I too worried about air bubbles and when the injection site bled it made me realise I might have hit a vein but the injections all working in the end xx
