Hello Billie Well ... wot can i say ... Im so glad you have thought hard about what you are about to embark on ... its not an easy ride, what is tho, i mean ivf isnt a piece of cake is it??? I dont know if i can help that much .... i havnt got to home visits yet (not even sure we will get there) but ive done the prep to adopt course, medical forms, police checks etc ... One thing i learnt going along this journey tho ... is altho yes, we all want to be parents, i used to think thats all it was ....
Quoted from "chicklet" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/health…VF-funding.html Im so bloody annoyed at some of the comments on this page, that i HAD to go in an state my point ... so angry i dont know why i read them!!!!
Hello there Nice to see a new face (so to speak) We have been going thru the adoption route now for 15mths (yes 15mths) and are still waiting for the home visits to start ... a lot of things have gone wrong so far with ours (i mean paper work, timescales etc) doesnt mean it will happen with yours of course Its a hard decision to come to ... adoption.. so i can sympathise with you there, but once u get the ball rolling ur whole aspect of adoption will change ... the children who wait arnet 'perfe...
Aw hun am so sorry ... take all the time u need Xxxx
Your gp will refer you to a provate consultant who will advise you on which is best for you = ivf or reversal. Please be aware that ivf doesnt always work. I was steralized and went to consultant to have it reversed, but he advised me that ivf would be better for us, as i already had given birth to 2 children, that ivf would be easy for us!! Wrong - 4 ivf's and a m/c later ... i am now too old for another ivf (43 in Aug) and am going down the adoption route. There are times when i wish to god i ...
Hello there First of all, im so sorry to hear about ur bfn ... its bloody hard when that happens and i know exactly how u are feeling. Ive had 4 attempts at ivf too ... 1 m/c and then threw in the towel ... The first failed and i was a wreck - it took me a year - yes a YEAR to get over it and decide to go again. It hits u hard when u have all ur hopes and dreams shattered when u get that negative result. It took me a long long time to get back up on the rollercoaster again, but i did eventually ...
Hi, I opted for IVF too ... My consultant advised it would be better (and cheaper) for us ... 4 paid for IVF's later ... and at the age of 42 - im still not pregnant ... and now its too late for reversal ... I do regret not going for the reversal, but only because i wasnt sucessful (obvisouly) no one knows if the reversal wud have beeb sucessful, or the IVF ... its a choice u have to make urself ... the way i look at it now, if i had had the reversal done ... i could at least 'try' every mth for...
Hello Welcome to this side of the boards .... we have all been where u are right now so know how u are feeling ....its a hard decision to give up tmt - i still look back and think what if we had carried on .... maybe everyone does, i dont know .... but i do know that when we are matched with the right child for us, i wont have to look back .... just keep looking fwd If u want to start a diary (if u havent already an i have been dull enuff not to look lol) come on over an start one (if ur ready) ...
Good Luck, an keep us posted, be great to catch up on how ur doing xxx
Hi There We are at the moment going thru the adoption process an i can honestly say, the visiting SW who visited us after our initial inquirey tried doing the same to us too. It is true that they asses ur dogs ... we have 2 and they will be lookoed at to see if they are good with children, what type of dog they are, where they live etc (ours are outside dogs an are kept outside at all times) there is a form to fill out with questions about the dogs, i understand why they do this cos after all, i...
Hi Ells I cant anwser ur question im afraid, but im sure u could find out where u are on the waiting list if u ring the dept up and ask them. Just out of curisoity, how long have u been steralized for and were u offered IVF .... reason i ask is cos i was steralized many years ago and when i went to Doc to ask for it to be reversed, he told me i was better going off for IVF - which i took his advise and did .... 4 attempts later and 4 years older - here i am, feeling too dam old for another IVF (...
Hi Girls Lee/Lou - quick question for u both ... are u having treatment at The Origin clinic? Reason why i ask is because when i had my last cycle there, i too only had one or two big follies but lots of little ones ... and every other time i have had treatment with them, i had responded really well, (responded really badly at the RVH with only 1 egg - shite cycle with them) but on my last cycle at Origin they changed the drugs to 600mu of Gonal F for the first 2 days (300 morning injection & 30...
Quoted from "elvisnniamh" Becky - hope you are a bit further along the adoption road Nope hun .... am STLL waiting it takes sooooo long Thanks for asking ... Xxx Hope everyone else is doing well, welcome Lyn - are u d/r with injections at Origin? Thats what i did, but it wasnt called Bruselin (for the life of me i cant remember what it was lol) but they all do the same thing ... and are all known as bruselin to the Doc's lol. xx
Quoted from "Tash1977" Just back from the RFC, glad to see the new door, but I didn't realise and went in through the usual maternity door!! Doh! What!! They have a new door ... what did i miss? When did that happen?? Not that i will ever use it again, but its so good to know that its there and that finally women do not have to out themselves thru the heartache of walking thru the maternity side of the hosp to get to the fertility dept ... so well done RVH clap took u long enuff, but am glad th...
Haaaaaaaaaa .... now then, now then (said in my Jimmy Savile accent) i had that too - more eggs from my right side as my other ovary was hidden from view of all scans etc ... thye had to push down really hard on my tummy at all my EC's (quite bloody painful too) to get eggs from my leftie ... maybe thats why there is a lot of tugging when we ovulate ... Hmmmm might have anwsered our own questions there lol .. xx
Not much point in babydancing for me ... im steralized lol But, as for every other month, could it be that ur only ovulating from the left side and not the right??? This mth mine was deff on the left side .... im gonna keep a note and see if nxt mth is the right ... just out of curiosity like xxx
I get exactly the same hun. Altho im not exactly 14 days as my periods can range from 28 - 38 day cycle, but i usually know when im ovulating as i get crampy (like mild period pains) and i get a lot of tugging too ... (might be daft thnking, but could this be the egg releasing??) i also get lots of EWCM, so much so, that lately ive had to use a panty liner ... i dont think its anything to worry about tho hun - at least i hope not Xxx
So Sorry Roxy You know ur own body, im so sorry it didnt work out for you Xxx
Wow! What a very brave selfless young lady ... Amazing!
Hi Tabby, No one thinks u are ungrateful at all hun ... i have 2 children (previous marriage) and have been trying for a baby for the passed 4 years. Ive had 4 ivf's and a heartberaking m/c on ivf number 3 ... as u can see from my sig, we are now going down the adoption route. Please dont feel bad for wanting a sibling for your daughter or for wanting to add to you family. There is a section here on FZ for 'trying again' where there are lots of women who are trying for a 2nd (even 3rd) baby http...
