Hey everyone - disclaimer ~ post contains happy news. After several private messages to share my news I decided my baby deserves his moment in time and so do I after enduring 3 years of IVF. * * * Our precious baby boy was born on Monday December 3rd at 4.19am after a very short 3 1/2 hour labour on only gas and air and shitloads of determination and I was that impatient to meet him I pushed that hard and quick! His name is Ethan and was 7lb 11oz. In true Bambi style nothing can run smoothly.. I...

To be honest Scottishgirl I have been a member of this page for almost 3 years, I have had a long emotional ivf journey and yet I am still here to come on and try and let what has happened to me bring some relief or encouragement to others. So for me to come on a give a wee update every couple of months I think you are out of line for saying so, I’m not here every other day rubbing peoples faces in, if you can’t be genuinely happy for someone who has went through something similar to what you ar...

Hey everyone, hope everyone is well SK88 - oh goodness what a wee journey you have been on already but seems your wee baby is a fighter and not going anywhere! Poor you having hyperemisis, wouldn't wish that on my enemy, hope your feeling better and the rest of your pregnancy is happy and healthy. I doubt any of us would have a pregnancy without worry as IVF makes you so aware of how things can go wrong and how precious a miracle growing a life is, where some people take it for granted! All the ...

SK88 - at the end of the day its entirely your choice. The nurse at the clinic won't be able to advice/discourage it, however personally I would use them both together for best results. Ask the question. will it do any harm? As I have full belief if won't do any harm at all and will only promote and increase blood flow to the uterus aiding implantation and growth especially through the first trimester. I had in my head to stop aspirin at 12 weeks but my local midwives said to keep taking as its ...

Morning everyone Massive congratulations nikita81! You must be so thrilled!! Can I ask why you have stopped taking the aspirin? I am still taking it and all midwives I have spoken to were happy I had been taking it as it reduces the risk of pre ecamplsia and blood clots etc later in pregnancy. Really wouldn't hurt to continue taking it. Glad the embryo glue helped your wee s=one stick in there!! Kums17, I am so delighted to read your happy scan news!! Congratulations! It really is such a transfo...

Hey everyone! Its been so quiet in here... hope everyone is well xx Kums17 - Have you had your 12 week scan? With the weaning, I was on four oestrogen and three progesterone a day (8 hours a part) so for a few days I took 3 OE and 2 PG (12hours a part) then just every couple of days dropped my dose, then after I took one every other day for a few days then delightfully threw all the remaining in the bin!!! I think its more for the side effects you might feel rather than any harm, so whatever you...

September seems so far away, did they say it was your booking appointment? Wont you be like 10 week so or so by then? Thats great they aren't too bad and I think it would worse to have no symptoms than some mild - crap ones!! Heartburn is the most under rated thing ever!! I never got heartburn before I was pregnant, well maybe if I ate loads and loads of pastry and rubbish but was very mild. I lie in my bed every night and I swear I am about to start breathing out fire, its get so hot that even ...

I had made an appointment before my 7 week scan as last time I had group b steep and needed antibiotics and was so worried incase I had it. My local midwives like you to get in touch as soon as you can so they can give you a booking appointment, id ring them now so you can get everything organised and then a date for your dating/nuchal scan. Ring your gp and they should give you a number for your local midwife, the letter is handy for them as they try to work out your edd by your last period whe...

Im so so happy for you Kums17 xxx Nikita81 - thats great about the embryo glue, just remind the embryologist the morning they ring the day of your transfer. I started taking 75mg aspirin (I got it out of Tesco in a wee yellow box) at the very beginning when I started the progynova as I figured if it was gonna affect anything it would be the lining and at least this would be identified prior to transfer at my baseline scan but all was well and I my lining was great, I also took vitamin D3 and ome...

It really does take over your life but when it works it does make all that heartache worthwhile xx Im keeping pretty well, wee stiff back and heartburn but cant complain, 23 weeks tomorrow. Still find it hard believing it, last couple of weeks my bump has fair popped out. Yes I've bought loads.. Was so hesitant on which pram to get, always had my heart set on an iCandy, I noticed a lovely unisex one and was discounted so we bought it and are storing it at my OH's granny as no bad Omans and super...

Hey hello! Your not mad at all!! I would say go for it, if a part of you wants to try one more time you might end up regret in years to come not trying. I have one frozen left and I know I will definitely be back to transfer it in a year or so, my sister and I have a 5 year age gap and we weren't that close so if I was to have a second I would like the age gap to be closer. Take care everyone xx

Evening everyone, feels like has been forever since I have been on here! Hope everyone is well xx My wee update, had our 20 week scan yesterday and baby was a rascal and was curling up in a ball with his/her back to us so I have to go back next week for another scan. Which one part of me is excited to see the baby again, yesterday during the scan, I think it was the pressure for so long and lying on my back, I was so faint, sick and clammy. The scan took around about an hour. All was looking wel...

Tinkerbell45 thats amazing!! Well done you!! The tenderness and bloat should ease off next couple of days! xx I never opted for the e-freeze trial as my first time I was so impatient and just wanted the transfer asap and the thought of having to wait longer was unbearable. I think there are arguments on both sides which have the better advantages. Personally, I believe if your wee embryo can survive being frozen, then thawed, then it is a wee fighter already! Plus a frozen transfer cycle is so m...

Morning, good luck today tinker bell, they give you an injection that will calm and relax you. It is normal to be very anxious, be thinking of you xx Kums17 - you only need and get progynova (estrogen) on a frozen transfer, that’s why Nikita wouldn’t have been prescribed it. Great to hear your one step closer to your next transfer, shame about all the injections but will be so worth it when you get your BFP! Positive thinking! Thank you I am keeping well, had my 16 week check up yesterday, all w...

Yes Nikita, seven transfers later you learn a lot!! Ok so with a frozen transfer, it's different to a fresh transfer, so on day 1 of your period you start taking progynova which is basically estrogen 3x;daily, then you have scan about 10/11 days later to measure your lining and if it above 7mm then you continue The progynova and cyclogest (suppositories), then transfer about a week later and continue these both until 12 weeks pregnant! I was NHS funded for all my cycles so the embryo glue is ava...

Hey Nikita, I can sympathise with you, the period is so bad, all that thickened lining etc. Best thing is to focus on getting mentally and physically ready for the next one! Maybe ask at your follow up if they could use embryo glue, ( my last two attempts with using embryo glue were the only two times I seen a heartbeat out of seven transfers - def worth a try) This successful round I was taking 4 cyclogest tablets a day, 3 x prognova ( I chose to do them 8 hours apart as felt the 12hour deadlin...
