Laparoscopy Results??

I have never really had an "appontment" when having a lap, I have either been asked to go in at 7.30 ( which covers the am surgeries) or 11.30 ( which coever the afternoon surgeries) you should have been given details regarding fasting as to when you need to stop eating and then drinking fluids, have you had that? No one could really say when you will be allowed home it all depends on how long you are in theatr and that will depend on what they find and what they do, anything from 30 mins to a f...

Laparoscopy Results??

Hunny please try not to worry, they will look after you and as Gemma says, look at it to hopefully finding out some answers and hopefully helping you and moving forward. Its only natural to worry as its your first but honestly you will be fine, You will see the consultant before you go into theatre so mention to him that you will be on your own when he goes through his findings and I m sure he will make sure you are fully with it before he fills you in Take care and try not to worry, it will all...

RE: Laparoscopy Results??

Hi there I have had 5 laps my most recent one was last Wednesday, on all my last 4 laps I have had to stay in overnight due to having alot of stuff done but I know the norm is a day case. When staying overnight the DR came to see me the following day I think this was partly down to the fact that going down very late by the time you come round he is off home for his tea! On my first one the Dr came to see me a few hours after the lap, I must admit it is hard to take everything in then that he say...

Endo on Bowels

Thanks ladies, they did my pre op over the phone fpr me this morning ( very odd I say) but as they said there was no history of problems they were happy tp do that. The nurse said as they were going in laparoscopically through the abdomen there was no need to bowel prep! Thank goodness I say! Well 5 weeks today and counting, Thank you all for taking the time to reply for me, as always so very much appreciated xxxx

Endo on Bowels

Hi ladies Just after some advice really, I am due to go in for my 5th lap on 21/10/09 as I think my endo has retruned this time around my bowel, as I have been having some very bad pain, constipation and opposite around af, My consultanat suggested another lap to have a look around. My only concern is when looking on the net ( i know you shouldn't :innocent many sites say that if they are looking around the bowel you need to have the relevant bowel prep the day before to clear yourself out so to...

Pre Op Assesment??

Hi Natalie Understand your anxiety, but as the girls have said you will be just fine hunny, your pre op just discusses what is going to happen, takes your BP etc, I had my BP taken when I was in with my consultant 4 months ago to arrange my next Lap ( had 5!) I have my next lap on 21/10 and my pre op assessment is this wednesday and they have told me as Im healthy with no major concerns I can have my pre op done over the phone so this just shows that its a relatively easy procedure that just tal...

Can Endo Affect Bowels ??

Hi Amyeliz Sorry to hear you are in pain and discomfort, unfortunately I do believe endo can move onto and around your bowel, I have recently gone back to my consultant as I think my endo has come back affecting my bowels as I seem to struggle with severe constiaption through the month, but around AF it is the other way!!!. My consultant advised me that it is very rare for it to actually be on the bowel, but as it can be very very close it has alot of effects on movements etc. I am currently wai...

RE: Uncomfortable!!

Hi Danielle Sorry you are feeling a little yuk, please try not to worry, many women feel uncomfortable after ET your body has been prodded and poked in places that are not normally, its no surprise that maybe you ovaries are a little swollen and sore, you have probably been told before but drink plenty of water and take it easy, if you start to feel worse or even for peace of mind contact your clinic am sure if they are worried they will surely see you. Take care Gayle xxx
