Is anyone starting downreging in the next week or 2?

Try to not worry Annie, easier said than done!! I was worried sick mine wouldn’t survive and I’m due to deliver next week!! They only freeze what stands a good chance of thawing, that’s what we were told by the dr, embryologist and nursing staff. Think positive!!

Is anyone starting downreging in the next week or 2?

You don’t need to be on bed rest. I was active and went on walks etc. I was uncomfortable but nothing that merited bed rest. Embryo transfer is quick and painless, there is also no need to be on bed rest following this either. We had a dander round botanic after both of mine followed by a leisurely lunch. Your husband is absolutely right to book a wee night away, go and Enjoy, if possible try to not think about your treatment. You’ve done everything you can do. Good luck for your transfer tomorr...

Is anyone starting downreging in the next week or 2?

Bbird we had 7 fertilised on day 3 and by day 5 had 3 excellent blasts - one of which turned into my beautiful daughter and the second of which we’ll meet in 2 weeks, the third and final one is still on ice awaiting transfer when I can bring myself to a stage of going again. The rest stopped at day 4 but we were delighted with 3 good blasts. Good luck! Spring I was a wreck before my EC but my husband and the lovely nurse distracted me and I was given good pain relief. It’s literally over in seco...

Annie that sounds so difficult but you have done an amazing job losing weight and putting yourself back out there for treatment. In terms of stress my first cycle was back in July 2015, my dad, who suffers from bipolar, was so manic two days after my retrieval he was escorted to hospital by the police. My stress levels were through the roof, I was so convinced it wouldn’t work but my 2 year old miracle is upstairs sleeping soundly. This time round my mum, who was diagnosed with dementia when my ...

Do they discharge you if your BMI is high? From memory you will have a couple of months between that appt and getting your treatment schedule and if needs be, which I did, you can choose a later appt to give you a bit of extra time before down regging.

I wasn’t weighed at my appt and I had 2 years between fresh and frozen cycles, if you are worried ask the nurse for advice. You can defer I think for upto 3 months. Good luck.

FET help me not have a mental breakdown!!!

I can understand that feeling well Annie, the nurse who seen us for our medication appt told me they don’t freeze anything that doesn’t stand a good chance of thawing and the vitrification process is much more advanced than it used to be. We thawed one of of two blasts in November and it’s currently tapdancing on my bladder. Frozen transfers have great success rates now and it is definitely less intrusive on your body. Two friends of mine both had frozen transfers with day 1 and 2 embryos a few ...

Are you on crinone? I had real funny colours with it and freaked out when I seen peachy pinky colours appearing, got my bfp not long after and continued to have weird colours for a few weeks.

Pre-treatment consultation

You won’t so don’t worry, easier said than done!! I stalked every forum for signs and symptoms to see if it had been successful. Drove my husband crazy. With my first go I had zero symptoms and could hardly believe it worked. Second time I cramped, had backache and pinky discharge from the crinone, I was so convinced this time had failed I did the test, threw it on the windowsill and refused to look at it. Only my husband retrieved it and made me look at it. Stay positive and away from forums if...

They keep you on the spray so your ovaries don’t release any eggs while you’re building up your uterine lining For implantation. It’s a fine science but it works! Don’t get caught up on dos and donts, my 2ww both times we had lazy mornings, coffee dates, lunch dates, walks through the park, just nice family time and tried to not think about it!! It drags in but it will be test day before you know it. I was under terrible stress both times and was convinced it had ruined my chances, DD is 2 and s...

It’s an exciting time! I was ICSI too so your second appt on 14 June will be your two hour appt with the nurse and you’ll get your drugs and treatment schedule including dates of scans etc. If you are before day 21 if your cycle you’ll go home with your schedule and drugs otherwise they’ll post your schedule out to you. Generally start on nose sprays on day 21, it used to be 4 sprays a day, it’s now 2 and after 3-4 weeks of that you’ll start injections combined with the spray. You’ll be scanned ...

Frozen embryos need more support than fresh which is why you continue with progesterone. X

Princess was this a fresh cycle? From memory after my fresh cycle I stopped gels a few days prior to testing and didn’t resume them after testing positive. With my frozen cycle I continued on them until I had my viability scan and then gradually weaned myself off them. At any rate phone the clinic for reassurance.

Sorry! No idea why half my message disappeared. Anyway I had all the colous you can imagine and am currently 30 weeks with a singleton. I had myself convinced it hadn’t worked as I had a lot of pinky/peachy discharge. Good luck

FET Questions

FET is more scary than a fresh transfer. But I was assured by the nurse doing my pre treatment that blasts are really robust and they generally don’t freeze anything that doesn’t stand a good chance of thawing. To give, hopefully, some Hope my FET worked and I’m 23 weeks with a singleton. Good luck to you all
