IUI

Hi My husband and I have made an appointment to go in to see the doctor about treatment! I'm excited but I know we've probably got a long wait ahead of us... I think we'll be needing IUI as the reason we need treatment is that he has retrograde ejaculation, so his sperm goes into his bladder. He had cancer and when they operated to remove a lymph node, they cut a nerve and this is the side effect. He banked sperm before the op tho, so that's why I think IUI is what we'll end up doing. He's 31 no...

Hi Rhianon We have talked about the possibility of any children of ours getting cancer, and I think we'd just have to take that risk. Hubby's mum was diagnosed at 48 with bowel cancer so hubby and his sister were told that they could both be screened at age 38 ie 10 years before her diagnosis, so I wonder if they'd do that for any boys that we had, but at age 18? Thanks all Rhianon thank you for your list of dates! Congrats on the birth of DD. Actually hubby's mum died of bowel cancer and his aunt had breast cancer he had testicular cancer), but his aunt has already had loads of studies and tests done (including on samples that were taken during hubby's op) and apparently there isn't a common gene, its like you said very bad luck! I've asked lots of cancer specialists and experts about if our children would be likely to have cancer/boys have the same tim...

Hi Rhianon, Thanks so much for your reply. I'm so glad it all worked out for you and that it was all worth it. That's quite a wait for you, can I ask what was happening over that time? I forgot to mention before that before he started his treatment he did bank some sperm, so we have that sat waiting for us when we do want to try! We do that after every check up at the oncologist actually, we go to the cinema/out for a meal stuff like that, he has check ups every three months right now, next one ...

Hi everyone Have joined this site today as I think I need some advice My hubby was diagnosed with cancer last year, had chemo and surgery and to cut a long story short, he's now got what's called 'retrograde ejaculation' so basically all his sperm goes into his bladder. He's only just really recovered from everything and gone back to work over the past few months (and we've finally had a honeymoon!) but we've started talking about having children (I'm 28 BTW and he will be 30 in October) in the ...
