Daily Mail Article

I could have written this article, (Well, been the lady interviewed I mean), even to the part where she couldn't face her SIL. I'm sure many of us have felt like this during our journeys. Just goes to prove what we already knew...... we're not weird or odd or freaks. We feel! LINK TO ARTICLE TO READ FULL STORY.......... Baby envy: The new social divide | Mail Online Karen Veness always thought herself a calm, rational and amiable woman. But in her early 30s she suddenly became bitter, resentful ...

Bourn Hall Clinic, Cambridge

Quoted from "herts2011" Hi girls , I just wanted to ask my fellow Bourn girls if anyone has had dr Matthews and how they got on and also have any of u ever asked to change docs and what you do ? sorry girls just thought u lot he best o ask xx Yes i had Dr Mathews as my cons. Never felt comfortable with him. Felt rushed through the last cycle and when it failed, he assumed we'd be cycling again even though he categorically told me he wouldnt change my protocol. I wasnt prepared to pay 8k to him ...

Blocked Tubes

Quoted from "Jasper" I have 2 blocked tubes My consultant said they wouldn't attempt to unblock them as it is not very succesful and can cause more harm than good. We were refered for IVF and that was succesful! Same here...2 blocked tubes They did an HSG (where the dye is put in the tubes) in the hope it would force the blockage out but when they found them as bad as they are, they said it would do more harm than good and too expensive. As Hayley said, IVF by-passes blocked tubes so hopefully ...

ARGC

Congratulations to you Alej4 on getting pg. I'm sorry your experience with ARGC wasnt very good. Not all clinics suit everyone. I think alot of girls on here that are trying with ARGC have unfortunately exhausted all other avenues. There aren't many of us that could even consider a natural IVF cycle, thats why we need the extra help. ARGC do alot more testing and include immune testing which many of the clinics we've already tried will not even entertain. And if you read the histories in the gir...

What would you do if you were told you had just a year left to conceive?

I'm actually sitting at work crying after reading this. I thought I was ready to move on to a certain extent. I thought I wasn't bothered about another round of IVF and i'd pursue other ways of having a family. How wrong was I? I HAVE to have 1 last try. Lucky, lucky lady to have got there on the first IVF try. It really does make all the heartache worth it when you can hold your babe in your arms. I just hope we can all get there one day. Quoted from "Ginger74" "Unfortunately, when you’re tryin...

Adoption...and looking for all info possible

Thank you for popping in hun. It's definately no a rush decision. I think we need loads of time to chat and think about all this. I'm ready to stop TX now if i'm honest but since the other day, DH has said he wants to think about 1 more go. He's worried he's not ready to throw in the towel on this and will always wonder 'what if' and eventually regret not trying again. I think i'm going to get the books you suggested hun and get him to read them before deciding. At the end of the day, if DH does...

Adoption...and looking for all info possible

Thank you for the encouragement Blue. Thats exactly what I was trying to say.... about how the children come into your life and the journey. You put it just right though. I know this will be a long process but I think anyone who had already tried all kinds of ways to become a family and have been trying for a period of time already has an almost ingrained sense of patience. I'm 37 years old so still have plenty of time to wait while the adoption process is being carried out. Obviously DH and I n...

Adoption...and looking for all info possible

This isn't really a thread I would have thought I'd be posting in quite yet. I thought if there was going to be any consideration for adoption, we would investigate next year at the earliest. It's funny how as much as I chat to my DH and have a very good and open relationship where we can talk about anything, we were so blind to what we thought each other wanted in life. I wont deny that previously I'd longed for my 'own' child. In fact, I dont even recognise the person I was 9 years ago. So obs...

It does depend on age, fertility problem, how many cycles you've had........ All of the above or only SOME of the above. Sometimes I think its a little bit random. I was 36 on my last cycle and had already had 5 'goes' of a mix of fresh and frozen so got 2 fresh blasts put back Good luck for getting 2 put back if thats what you want.

Jeremy Kyle talks fertility on morning surgery (ITV) now

Quoted from "KayJay" I can't believe JK finished the show by boasting he doesn't wear pants and has 4 children! I suppose in his defence, the program was about fertility, not infertility.

Jeremy Kyle talks fertility on morning surgery (ITV) now

Quoted from "KayJay" I take that back! I hate when people tell you to relax and it'll happen! Hehe, yeah, if that were the case, i'd be 'Mrs Loadsa kids' and been pg 10 times over. Knob heads!!

I think that couple on there seriously need to think about giving up smoking. Surely they were advised about all that to begin with??

Should I, shouldn't i?? Will they won't they???

Tis true, i am waiting on results for level 1's but if you read alot about immunology testing, the level 1's may or may not show anything. The level 2's (Chicago tests) are the ones that give a better picture of any problems. Some GP's will do level ones as they are mainly pretty regular blood tests that many ppl including 'non-IVF'ers would have. Its definately worth asking and there are lists in this section of what to ask for. GP's woulsn't have a clue if you just ask for 'level 1's) As for B...

I saw it toooo!! So brilliant that Professor Edwards has been recognised for his work. I also saw Dr Mathews and thought GRRRR, theres my doc that doesnt listen to me and 'maybe' cost me my last NHS go. (only my opinion though)

More Q's about level 1 tests

Quoted from "Maria72" Billie did you go to ARG or did your GP prescribe you the immune tests? Maria, my GP is funding the level 1's. I haven't visited any of the immune places yet and wont til next yr. At least getting the level 1's done now will be my way of 'doing something'. I have a follow up on 5th Nov at Bourn but tbh, i dont know whats gonna be said. I was considering not going but my friend said to go coz even if Bourn say they cant help now, at least i'll know. I certainly dont hold ou...
