How do you know.........

Hi Shelley I am a bit of a google freak so googled some of the sleep help techniques plus I have listened to the good advice from my friends who have been there and done it with their kids. You are right to not to want to make a rod for your own back - but equally you dont want to to upset Olly with too much change all at once. So maybe look at one of the areas and work on that ie putting down 'awake' then once youve sussed that move on to the next step you want to change. I would be reluctant t...

How do you know.........

Hi Shelley Now I am by no means an expert but this is what we do Have never rocked the twins to sleep as they will then associate sleep with that and would have had trouble putting them to 'bed' on their own Have always put them in their cot awake as they have to learn how to settle themselves - we have been very lucky as they both do this well Started them in the cot from day 1 - but for the first month they stayed downstairs with us and went up to bed anywhere between 10 and 12am this was a ni...

Advice on night feeds!!!

Hi Jannie We moved them onto faster flowing teats at 7 weeks!!! I think Maisy is just a lazy girl and can't be bothered half the time. Funnily enough she has had a good couple of days and is taking more milk so like you said its swings and roundabouts!! So did you start solids at 16 weeks then? Was it just baby rice or porridge or did you go for it? Last nights update - Maisy woke at 12.30 Olly at 1 then Olly again at 4 and he basically wouldnt really settle until 6when he fell back to sleep pro...

Advice on night feeds!!!

Hi Lola yes long time indeed, I'm glad things are going so well for you and your sons - I remember when they were born - so early the little mites and yet now 6 months on (where does time go??) they are thriving. Its good to hear x Everything is going great here. My two have just started really interacting, they would give us the odd smile and vacant stare for a while but now they are looking at us animated and happy and smiling giggling etc it is so lovely to see. They also spend a lot of time ...

Advice on night feeds!!!

Hello guys thanks for your thoughts and advice. We also tried the dream feed as apposed to waking them a few weeks ago. That worked in as much as they didnt wake up but they still proceeded to wake at 1ish and then 4ish!! So we binned that idea and let them wake naturally at whenever o clock! Oliver has slept for 9.5 hours one night so I know he is cabable of doing it and equally Maisy has gone for 7.5 hours BUT its not consistent. Last night for example Bath and bottle and in bed by 7 settled a...

Advice on night feeds!!!

Hi all. Well the twins are now nearing 11 weeks old and are settling in nicely but we do have one problem still - night waking. They were on 3 hourly feeds and that has now moved on to 4 hourly so we are on 7am 11am 3pm 7pm - then we let them sleep usually until about 12.30 - 1.30am where they then get fed again, they also keep waking at 4am ish which is now only a soothe / water is offered, no milk... My question is should we wake them at 10/11pm for the feed or should we carry on letting them ...

Confused!

Hi hun, just thought I'd add my two pennith worth.... Throughout my pregnancy I have always been 'ahead' of a singleton carrier; fantastically at todays 36 week midwife appt my stomach measured 48 weeks!!! I agree with the others its all a load of rubbish. I have done and still am exercising every day some days more than others now tbh but ultimately my dog needs walking!!! Certainly dont give up on carbs you and the babies need them to get you through the pregnancy. As it stands I have two heal...

vasectomy reversal no sperm count

Hi Millie and welcome to FZ I'm sure you will find this site very useful and the support you will get here is amazing. My partner and I also went through a reversal, we were initially told that there were sperm present, so spent 18 months 'trying' only to find at a later test that there were infact none present!! But as Rico has already said the next stage was surgical sperm retrival combined with icsi, and I am now pregnant (30 weeks) with twins!!! So please dont despair there is light at the e...

When to start maternity leave?

Hi all. I wanted your advice really on when to start maternity leave? I am 27 weeks pregnant with twins and work as a Care Assistant which can at times be quite physical, although my shifts are only 5 hours long! I had originally said I would work up to 32(ish) weeks assuming the twins arrive at 37 weeks. BUT just this last week I have been feeling really tired and uncomfortable, I also get a really sharp pain - like a stitch in my left side which gets worse if I don't rest. I know I am answerin...

SECOND TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Hi Shelley I would be interested to hear what your doc says about the numbness in you leg....Is it in your thigh??? I had it and it has got progressively worse and has evolved into sharp stabbing pains!!! Not wanting to worry you My Dr thinks its a condition called paresthetica meralgia which will only get better once the babies are born!!! Great. I wander if your doc will come up with the same and any remedies!!!?????

Cyclogest Pessaries

Hello chick.... wow that does seem long to me I have just finished mine at 16 weeks I was told that at around 14 weeks your body start producing enough progesterone itself therefore we no longer need the support!!! I would double check with your clinic, I think in fairness all clinics do vary on their protocol.
