Am I a bad person if I don't express?

Thank you SO MUCH ladies. Quoted from "Polly Pocket" I never got much by expressing either it was a lot of fuss for not much in my case, our DD didn't like bottles so there was no point. If I knew that when I first had my DD I wouldn't have bothered with it, she has always been far happier feeding from me and there isn't any sterilising to be done afterwards! Sounds just like Bobble! Quoted from "Bells" We often hear plans of breastfeeding and expressing for ease, so that Dad can help out with n...

Am I a bad person if I don't express?

Hi girls, I'm having a lot of trouble expressing and I'm starting to wonder if it's more hassle than it's worth. Part of the problem is that I don't do it often enough. Bobble doesn't like being put down during the day, and my few attempts to feed him from one side and express from the other weren't very successful. By the time Mrs Me gets home in the evenings, he's having his cluster feeding session before bed, so that just leaves weekends. When I do it, it's very hit and miss. The last two tim...

sleep issues

Bobble recently started waking up more often - turned out he was cold, and an extra blanket sorted it. He he's congested, try a vapouriser - you can get an electric one from boots that releases menthol/ eucalyptus into the room. Good luck!

12-week-old feeding constantly - am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for all the advice and reassurance ladies It's hard not to doubt yourself when your baby feeds so differently from everyone else's. Had a better night last night, he slept for 5 hours, fed, then slept for 3 hours. I've tried shortening the feeds before, but it ended up being worse cos he wanted to feed again really soon afterwards - like he hadn't finished properly? I think he's feeding on and off for the whole time rather then feeding for x minutes and then comfort sucking for the rest, ...

12-week-old feeding constantly - am I doing something wrong?

Hi ladies, I'm hoping someone can give me some advice/reassurance, as I'm feeling really inadequate and down today. Some background - I feed on demand, and Bobble has always fed frequently and for a long time. Feeding for an hour (with a break for a nappy change in between) is normal for him. Recently he's been in a kind of routine where he'll feed for an hour, then go two hours before he wants feeding again. He cluster feeds in the evenings. At night he goes to bed around 10 and will sleep for ...

Transition from swaddling to Grobag

Thanks for the replies... I went back to swaddling last night but he still woke up more than usual. I think he might have been cold - I had him in a vest and babygrow, swaddled in a thinnish blanket. The room must have been about 15 degrees in the middle of the night. I'm really scared of him overheating after all the stuff I read about cot death but maybe I should try an extra blanket?

Transition from swaddling to Grobag

Hi, I've had two sleepless nights after putting Bobble in a Grobag instead of his usual swaddling while his SwaddleMe was in the wash - and also it's been so cold and I thought the grobag would be warmer - but he just wouldn't sleep. I think his arms flailing around woke him up every time he started nodding off. Ended up feeding him in the bed with me just so I could get some sleep, which is not ideal as I'd successfully got him out of that habit and he was doing really well in the cot. This mor...

Post-baby weight

Hi ladies, Bobble is now 2 months old so it's early days, but just wondering when the baby weight will shift? Most of it dropped off in th first few weeks but I'm now stuck at about half a stone over my pre pregnancy weight. I don't look too bad, just a bit of a muffin top I'm eating around 400-500 extra calories a day as i'm breastfeeding, I eat pretty healthily but I guess not as active as I used to be... Am I just being impatient? I was kind of hoping the weight would just melt away on its ow...

Foremilk and hindmilk - confused

Bobble feeds for so long that he surely must be getting both I'm just interested to find out which is right - or if none of them are. How can you tell when it's empty? I usually feed from one boob til he falls asleep, then change his nappy to wake him up and offer him the other one.

Foremilk and hindmilk - confused

I'm really confused about this. One book says the hindmilk starts after 10 mins, The Baby Whisperer says more like 15 mins, HV said baby gets both throughout the feed, someone else said the hindmilk starts pretty much straight away... does anyone have a definitive answer? Or isn't there one? Maybe no one really knows... I'd be interested to find out.

Stuffy nose - should I be worried?

Bobble has a stuffy nose. I mentioned it at his 6 week check and the doctor didn't seem at all worried, she said he chest sounded fine and prescribed some saline drops, which have helped a bit. I also bought a nasal aspirator, which is gross but does get rid of the snot! His breathing sounds really snorty sometimes, especially when he's feeding, but apart from that he's fine and doesn't seem ill or anything. What could be causing it? How long should I leave it before going back to the doctor? Th...

What's going on with Bobble hair?!

Bobble was born with quite a bit of hair - but only round the back and sides. He's still completely bald on top, he looks like a monk! What's going on with that?! Any idea when the rest of it will catch up? He still looks cute, bless him

Fingers still swollen a month after giving birth

Hi girls, I took my wedding and engagements rings off at about 7 months pregnant as my fingers had started to swell slightly. My feet went back to normal size pretty much straight away after giving birth, but my fingers are still swollen and my rings won't fit Will they ever go back to their normal size?

Lopsided boobs

Since I started breastfeeding my boobs have become lopsided! They were nice and even before, but now the right boob is bigger than the left. I've been trying using alternate sides to start with so not sure what's going on... any ideas?
