Anyone hoping for a VBAC?

Hi everyone! I am currently 22 wks pg with our second baby. DS was born by emergency section after 26 hrs of labour despite me dilating to 9cm. I would really like to try for a VBAC this time as don't want to be in hospital for days away from my DS. I have a bit of support from the hospital but they do seem to be pushing me more towards a planned section but won't give me any reasons why. From the research I've done it seems that I am in a good position for a successful VBAC. Is there anyone els...

What lovely people

Hi Mistykins! We had our first tx at Care Sheffield in 2009 and couldn't fault the whole team, they were friendly, caring and made us feel so relaxed and welcome. We were so impressed that we have just been back for our 2nd tx and found them to be exactly the same over 2 years later. Dr Shaker is such a lovely man isn't he, we are eternally grateful to him for our gorgeous DS and have for test day tomorrow.

anyone had ewcm whilst cycling on short protocol of suprecur and menopur?

Sorry for this post but I am curious, I am on a short protocol icsi and took cycloprogynova for 2 weeks, had a bleed then I have been injecting suprecur and menopur together every day for the last 11 days. I have noticed for the last 3-4 days that I have ewcm when I wipe after going to the loo (so sorry about tmi!) I was just a little worried that I may be ovulating before I should as ec may not be until fri. Has anyone else had this or heard of it?

How to wean lo off the breast?

Hi Gracie! Hope you had a wonderful Glad to hear things sound to be going down the right track for you hun. Great news too on Freya's iron levels and the milk drinking I still haven't managed to get H to drink milk but don't think I drank much as a child and haven't had milk at all since I was a pre-teen. I started taking cycloprogynova on dec 23rd and have just 3 more days left before I go in for a blood test and to find out when I start with the suprecur and menopur. My drugs arrived this morn...

How to wean lo off the breast?

Gracie!! How are things going? Great to hear the morning feeds are cracked. How are you getting on with the evening one? I haven't had any time to pop in here for a while but things seem to be going quite well (dare I say it! ) H has taken it really well not having an evening feed and hasn't once asked/acted as if he wanted any. He has been eating loads throughout the day too since stopping breastfeeding and we have also had 3-4 nights each week of him sleeping right through the night. Not quit...

How to wean lo off the breast?

Gracie, How are things going with you and Freya? Are you still enjoying cbeebies at 6am? I have been a member of that early morning club for a while now, sometimes as early as 5am which is no fun! It's amazing how DH's seem to think a quick bf will sort things when you're trying to wean lo's off it, my dh is the same sometimes. They are right in one sense but it really does undo all the work you've put in so far, glad you managed to resist. Hope Freyas iron levels have gone up too , when do you...

How to wean lo off the breast?

Evening! The strangest thing has happened the last 2 evenings whilst feeding H, last night he had just latched on and then pulled off, looked at me and said 'no'. He then latched on again and fed from both sides. Tonight he did exactly the same. Not sure what to think as 'no' is his favourite word at the minute and doesn't always mean no. I do wonder if he might be starting to self wean as he isn't having any other bf, or is it just wishful thinking on my part xx

How to wean lo off the breast?

Hi Gracie! AKA Lunatic! The babycino sounds like a hit , at the risk of sounding a complete idiot what's in it? A friend told me the other day that her 2 boys wouldn't drink cows milk when she weaned them off the boob but as soon as she mixed it with hot choc they went crazy for it. Just don't want to stimulate H before bedtime. Was wondering if I could get something to flavour the milk with vanilla, will have to have a look. I can't believe it's so hard to get them off the breast, it's one thin...

How to wean lo off the breast?

Hi Gracie and Polly! Haven't had chance to turn the computer on for days but wanted to see how things were going with Gracie and Freya. Sounds like she is doing pretty well not wanting the breast feed in the morning. How are the night times going, any better? It's a one off if H sleeps through the night but would love it to become normal! We seem to have sorted the mornings now, as long as I take Harrison down for breakfast when he wakes we are ok. He woke at 5am today and I tried to settle him ...

How to wean lo off the breast?

Hi Polly and Gracie Great news Gracie, sounds like Freya will hopefully drop the morning feed , it's a good start. Let me know how you get on. Yesterday didn't go as well for us, ds woke at 5.30am and wouldn't settle back down, kept screaming and trying to lift my top up. I took him downstairs and did the breakfast/tv routine again and he ate loads all morning, I couldn't fill him! Cereal, toast, banana, satsuma, raisins and that was just in a couple of hours! He was quite clingy all day and tri...

How to wean lo off the breast?

Wow, I keep reading about miracles on here and sounds like you were one of them with your dd's I still find it amazing to hear other peoples stories, makes me smile I gave ds a bf last night and kept thinking that this was probably the next to last time I may ever bf. (keep thinking that our next tx might not work, no idea why) He slept until 4am then woke up coughing and started crying. He refused water and some formula (both from a cup) and screamed for nearly 30mins. I eventually calmed him d...

How to wean lo off the breast?

Gracie, you are so right, I had only thought about bf for the first 6 months, then before I knew it 8 months had gone by and I was still bf!! Then it became easier just to carry on with it hence still getting the boob out 16months in. Think you may just have an ideal time to give it a try there hun, for you if you decide to give it a try. Polly, thanks so much for your post, incredible that you tandem fed both your dd's and for so long too. Do you mind me asking if you conceived your dd's natura...

How to wean lo off the breast?

Thanks Gracie and Fi's mum! Think I'm panicking a little as we thought starting icsi with my dec period meant we had a bit more time to wean him off but apparently I have to start taking tablets next sun OMG! Still not quite sure how the short protocol works and timings etc Gracie, I was the same, down to 2 feeds a day and I really thought H was self weaning but then one of us was poorly (can't remember who now lol) and he decided to start feeding more again, I think it was more for the comfort/...

How to wean lo off the breast?

Have been continuing bfeeding as have been able to work it round my shifts and work have been great at letting me nip home early evening to do the bedtime feed. I have managed to get ds down to 2 bfeeds a day, first thing in the morning and last thing at night but we are due to start icsi very soon and I have been told I can't continue to bf during the tx. Has anyone got any advice on which feed to drop first and how to distract ds from the boob as he is very determined when he wants something! ...

low amh and low sperm morphology

Hi, DH and I have a 16mth old son conceived after our 1st ivf. We are in the unexplained infertility category and have been trying naturally since may this year but are still hoping for a little miracle. Yesterday we went for a review app at the ivf clinic and were told that my amh was low at 3.8 (not sure on the units they use) and DH's sperm results were good except for his morphology which has gone down to 3%. On our previous ivf cycle we had poor fertilisation (only one egg fertilised from t...

16mth old not eating/sleeping much and we're starting to despair! :-(

Hi, things with our 16 month old ds are starting to really get us down and we feel like we are close to losing the plot. We have a gorgeous son who is a pleasure to be around when he eats and sleeps but for the last 2 months he has been really hard work. We have gone from him sleeping right through the night with no waking for breastfeeds to him waking anything up to 3 times a night, wanting a breastfeed each time to get back to sleep and then an early wake of around 5-6am. He is becoming really...

Trying again - what tests do we need?

Hi Sarah! Firstly, welcome to the trying again section and with ttc a brother or sister for Alex! I think it will all depend on your clinic as to what tests they do. We have just self referred back to our clinic as ttc naturally hasn't produced a BFP for us yet after nearly 5 months. I have just been for an amh blood test and follicle scan and dh has had to do another semen analysis. We have unexplained infertility but last time dh was tested his results were good. We also have to have all the o...
