IVF treatments on the NHS and moving home for it?

Hi I moved PCT Trusts from Dudely to Worcestershire in order to gain an extra NHS funded IVF cycle and much much shorter waiting lists. I did this by registering with the doctors surgery using my parents address. They did not ask for any proof that I was living there ....and there was no stipulation that I had to have been there for a certain amount of time before I could be referred for the NHS cycle. I am also registered at the hospital and the fertility clinic with my parents address. The Pri...

From bad to worse

Joanne I know exact;ly how you feel - Ive been absent from fertility zone for a bit as I miraculously managed to get a BFP natuarlly after a failed ~IVF - unfortunately it ended in miscarriage and 4 weeks after the MC I found myself at the babtism for my brothers 12 week old little girl - to say it was a hard event to attend is a complete understatement as I pretty much broke down in the church - I feel so envious of them as again thery were not even trying to get pregnant .....and I have found ...

Im New :)

Hi At the Priory they are quite quick - once I got my referral to them - it was about 6 weeks and I had my first appointment where you fill in all the forms and they talk you through the process of IVF. They give you printed hand outs too which is useful as its a lot to take in ........then you just wait until your next period (alled AF on this site ) which counts as Day 1 and start injecting that cycle. Its very useful to be close to the climic (we are only wollaston near stourbridge) - as you ...

The more I think the angrier I get....should I complain??

I unfotunately had a lot of problems with my original doctors and hospital. I live in Stourbridge which means I fall under Dudley PCT. WE had a lot of problems trying to get referred to see a specialist consultant even through we had been trying for kids for over 2 years. We were sent for all the bloods and Sperm Analysis. The doctor told us that my DH had a zero count and we would never have children so we should consider the adoption route - very unsympathetic he was. !!!! Eventually I got a b...

Totally shocked by follow up appointmnet, not sure what to think

Hi Pringles I also had a nighmare experience with my local NHS hospital when I first started out on this fertility road .......very arogant doctors who didnt have a clue howw to handle tests, huge delays, never saw the same specialist twice ........cock up with my husbands sperm analysis - was told he had zero sperm count - - he has fine numbers - its just they had left the sample out for too long before performing the tests (It took moving PCT trusts - by registering with another doctors surger...

Otherwise I have not had any other side effeects yet ....but Im sure I will.......I just keep thinking that it will all be worth it in the end .......... Are you on long protocol too ?? Gump xx

BMI Priory Hospital, Birmingham

I have had 3 goes at IUI at the Priory and am currently waiting to start IVF injections: The staff are wonderful The waiting lists are not too bad I have never been made to feel second class for being NHS funded instead of paying private The fertility nurses really want you to succeed......but they themselves will not offer any emotional support as its not their job and they are not trainined to....but they have allways advised me to see a counsellor if struggling. I would recommend this clinic ...
