Well scan went good - baby is bang on the size its meant to be and still has a strong heartbeat so things are looking good so far. 8 and a half weeks and counting :-) Hope everyone else is doing ok?? Lynn, I hope your doing ok, I understand that these things normally come down by themselves with a month of the drugs. Opal x

Sorry to hear that Lynn. If its any comfort - although it does happen, I think its rare for the 1st cycle to be the one that works. Big Hugs and good luck with number 2!! Well, I had a bit of a scare on Thursday, started bleeding fairly heavily so had to go for a scan in the early pregnancy unit. They confirmed that I had 1 strong heartbeat and couldnt track the source of the blood, so I've just to carry on as normal and I have my scan with the fertility unit tomorrow. Gave us both a bit of a fr...

Definately not Lynn - if you get a positive on it you'll drive yourself crazy wondering if its really a positive or if the trigger just hasnt gone yet... or if its really a negative or is just too early - Trust me, I did it :-) You can hold out another week, after all the time you've waited, whats another week to you? Sorry to hear about your BFN Kylie, take care of yourself. Lynn, The Monklands do always tell you that your cycle will be due 2 weeks after the trigger and that you dont need to call them for a further week after that. They have never actually said to me that "you can test from this date onwards" I can never help myself and always tested slightly early. Its best to try not to though, because you then sit and worry that any positive you get is not actually a true positive. Fingers crossed that th...

Good luck for tomorrow lollygirl - fingers crossed for you. Hope everyone else is doing ok???? Well, i'm seven weeks tomorrow and everything is still going ok. Had a couple of days of nausea but nothing too bad and other than that i'm just feeling tired. I've swapped to caffeine free coffee, cut out Irn Bru and coke, eating breakfast (dont usually eat in the morning) and eating loads of fruit and veg, so if something does go wrong this time I can honestly say that I have done everything I can to...

Haven't been on for a while ladies so I've just had a quick look back to see whats happening, Lolly, sorry about the BFN, and Wannabemum - I'm sure the cycst will be benign, if it wasnt you would surely have had symptoms of some sort and it wouldnt just have been found on your scan for IUI. Keep your chin up - at least as the girls say, your getting your op now. Gizzi, glad to hear the injections werent too bad - fingers crossed for your insemination x Well i'm nearly 5 and a half weeks pregnant...

My clinic is 24hrs after HCG shot as well. Wannabemum, I am friendly with someone else who is going through IUI just now as well and has only managed 2 cycles so far because she developed a 6cm and 5cm cyst on one of her ovaries after the 2nd cycle. One of them went down but the other hasnt yet - 2 months later, so after another visit to the consulatant she has to go in for some type of injection to down regulate her hormones and hopefully bring the cyst down. I am surpised that they are opting ...

Hi all, Good to hear things are going well Lollygirl - my other half has issues with time off for sample delivery as well but its because he works so far away and he does early shifts all the time, so would miss most of his shift to come back to deliver it. We''ve been really lucky so far in that every one of our sample days has fallen either on a day off for him or on his later start but we have a contingency plan in place for an early shift.... it involves me driving all the way to his work an...

Well, had my scan and barely any response from the day before despite the triple injection so they have given me another double injection today and i've to go in again at 9 tomorrow for a further scan. I cant go ahead with IUI now this month but if they've grown sufficiently tomorrow and I havent now overstimmed then I will still get the trigger to release my eggs so that we can try normally - which to be fair should be ok as ours isnt a male factor problem, its the fact i dont ovulate. Another ...

Well, had my scan earlier - 1 at 1.2 and 1 at 1.1 - nowhere near big enough yet and only 1 day left so had another triple jag after appointment and back in tomorrow morning. If they've grown enough I get the trigger shot tomorrow and then insemination on Thurs and if they havent grown then I think its an abandon - so see what tomorrow brings. Opal

Sorry to hear your cycle didnt work Stace - fingers crossed for the next one. x Elsie, my other half came in for the first one as I was a bit apprehensive but he hasnt been to any of the others now that I know its not painful. They dont see anything, so its up to you what your comfortable with. I'm ususally pretty early for all my appointments and I find it quite interesting watching the other couples come and go - a lot of women come in for most of their appointments on their own. My other half...

Hi all, hope you are well. My clinic recommends 2-5 days as well but the girls are right when they say that you have more slow, poor ones if you are up at 5 days (at least thats what the scientist told me). Well, I am back on treatment, my follicle was gone on my scan and I started Clomid on Monday and had first injection on wed - a whopper 225 shot again. Back onto just a double dose frid and sund. I have a scan on Tuesday to see how things are going but if i'm not ready to inseminate by Thurs ...

I'm sorry to hear that your cycle didnt work Gumpy, it must be daunting moving on to IVF but at least its not a give up - i'm sure it'll happen for you. Well my period started tonight so my 3rd round hasnt worked either. I was kind of expecting it though, I was having more cycle symptoms than pregnancy symptoms. Doesnt make it any easier though does it? My clinic isnt open over weekends so I'll need to call Monday and arrange a scan as I still had a follicle on my last one, post IUI. Off we go a...

Welcome Chrissie and Elsie. Hi Gumpy, I'm good. Only symptom I have is slightly swollen achy breasts which could be an indicator either way. My 2 weeks are up on Thursday, although my Hosp recommends another week before testing - cant see me waiting that long though. Howz you - is it wednesday for you? Opal x

IUI Chat 2011

Hi wannebemum, Ailly is right. its a personal thing - i was usually half an hour early for all my appointments to allow time to park so i've seen quite a few couples come and go - a lot of the time the female attends by themselves (i usually do). I took DP along for 1st insemination as he was off work and I was a bit apprehensive but he hasnt been to the other 2. Once I realised there wasnt much to it I was happy to go on my own - no sense in us both taking time of work. DP did most of my inject...

Well, insemination went fine. Had my follow up scan yesterday and all 4 follicles are gone, although I do have a smaller one left so will need a scan before comencing the next cycle if this one doesnt work. I've to call the hospital on the 14th April if my cycle hasnt started. How are you doing Gumpy? I normally get sore breasts about 24hrs after the trigger shot but I havent had any symptoms yet - how about you? Hope your last couple of days at work are going ok - thats exciting about setting u...

Ok - so i'm in the same position as you Gumpy, went this morning for 2nd scan and I have a 2.0mm, 1.6mm, 1.4 and 1.3 - all of which could potentially go. The nurse thought the decision would be to abandon but her boss said the decision was mine as they are aware how difficult it is to get me to this point - talk about being put on the spot... I was in on my own so I didnt know what to do, so I have said yes. I had my trigger at mid-day and my insemination is tomorrow at 12.15. Opal
